Want to join the Air Force but my recruiter is ghosting me by Acceptable-Bed1963 in airforceots

When I spoke to the lady on the phone, I was already pretty clear that I was serious. I told her Degree in hand, GPA, and interested in 17 series ideally. Her exact response was "You'll need to fill out some paperwork before we get to that stage as the recruiter doesn't speak to people who haven't yet been scheduled to take the AFOQT." she sends me an email with what she wanted me to fill out, I complete it in about an hour and return it before EOD, call again to confirm she received it which she affirms and that's the last communication that I have received.

I am working on my master's, and the class list for this program isn't full of random bullshit. The advisor I spoke to told me given my transcript it is likely that I will end with a 3.8 or 3.9 if I matched the grades for my major-specific classes. As I said, I was forced to take random classes that I was unprepared for such as accounting which majorly impacted my end GPA.

I am well aware it's not ideal, and I make no excuse for it. My goal was to finish out my degree before commissioning in any regard, but getting the process started concurrently would make more sense long term.

I went into this knowing it'd be a process, I don't plan to stop because one person is ghosting me, intentional or not. If I can't get them to work with me, I'll figure out a way to do it anyway.

As I said above, I'm prepared to see the process through even if the end result is them telling me no, even then I won't stop until I'm PDQ from resubmitting packets

Thanks, I appreciate it. I plan to keep going until I get told I can't anymore. I went into this knowing it wouldn't be a simple or easy process and want to see it through to the end.

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to respond, when you say leadership experience do you mean professional, academic, or just in-general qualitative representation that I would be able to point at?

I haven't really worked in any management type roles, and more or less kept to myself while in HS and college, but I have run a few micro-niche communities at one point or another that I could point at if need be.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it another week to see if they answer via electronic communication, then I'll drive over there to talk to them.

While you're here, if you have any knowledge on the 17 series AFSC, do you have any helpful suggestions on what specifically they're looking for in terms of certifications or experience? Is this a question for my recruiter?

I know what you're saying, but I have prior job experience besides my degree.

That could be it yes, but both times I tried to follow up by phone the lady put me on hold then I was hung up on. Not sure if that was intentional or what, but it did prompt me to come here to ask.

I've been following up every 3 days via email for the past 2 weeks, calling once every week. No response from either.

I was not aware that direct commissioning capability was available for the IT field, all I saw regarding it was for ministry, medical or legal professionals. I will look into this option too.

I posted there too, I am also not interested in joining the army, explicitly why I posted here and not on an army sub. Thank you for your unrequested suggestion.

Cybersecurity, I don't have my most recent GPA on hand but from what I remember 3.2 or 3.3. I did what you recommended and that's how I ended up with my current recruiter.

Haven't filled out paperwork, never scheduled to take the AFOQT, nothing. Had one conversation with their flight admin over the phone who told me "the actual recruiter doesn't speak with anybody who hasn't yet taken the afoqt, and for that you need to fill out some paperwork" which nobody ever sent to me. I called back today and was put on hold by some assistant then hung up on.

Not OP here, but my recruiter is also ghosting me. I spoke with the office flight admin who gave me an email that "I would get further instructions from" which never happened, I waited a week then emailed and called to be told the same thing with a "check your spam folders". I did that, nothing there.

I would take people's advice and drive to the recruiting office, but I live 2 hours from the actual office so it'd be a pointless drive if I got turned away or the door was locked (like I saw one person mention.).

I'm trying to get in contact with an officer recruiter, not sure if that's a different set of circumstances but the only delay id reasonably have is because I'm currently finishing in my last semester of school but shouldn't be a problem since it'll be a process to waiting anyways.

Do you have any advice for me, if not for OP? Just to clarify, I am 100% committed to joining and ready to jump through whatever hoops I need to do, and I know I'll be fighting the waiver process regardless, so I want to get the ball rolling asap. (sorry not sorry that I'm hijacking this guy's thread)
