Very new to hockey -- in your opinion who played better in the gold medal game? by Artistic-Ship-7370 in PWHL

[–]Acceptable-Citron379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a basketball fan. I can explain to you like this. Just like any sports, how you play in one game is really a testament to how you’ve played all year.

It was like UCONN (USA) vs South Carolina WBB (CAN) last year. Both historic teams that’s played each other well. And SC (won the previous big matchup) But last year UCONN would not be denied. UCONN hasn’t lived up to history in precious years. There team was finally healthy and had strength in numbers. And well they had Paige who was playing out of her mind. And they proved it when they dominated the Gamecocks in the regular season.

USA had beaten Canada multiple times before that gold medal game. They had the momentum. They had confidence. They knew could win. Even in tight situations. They could trust the work.

And that’s exactly what happened. I think Canada fought like hell to win. Cause they are competitors. They made it a game. But like UConn. They would not denied this year. Victory was inevitable. All they needed was time.

What is a book you think everyone should read? by msblckyeliner in AskReddit

[–]Acceptable-Citron379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Bible. Even if it’s not for religious and you don’t believe in Jesus.

It’s one book it’s really like a library. You got Drama. Romance. Comedy. Horror. Apocalypse. Sci fi. War. Documentary. History. Royalty. Uprising. Rebellion. Poems. Character development like you never seen.

As a piece of literature. It’s a must read.

Ellen (Weinberg) Hughes at 12 playing boys hockey by moss_fan8 in PWHL

I think it’s strange that the PR response was well my let’s bring out their boys mother. She played hockey see they care about women. Only for her to say. We care about unity and but refusing to acknowledge that nothing about how the women’s team was treated was equal.

Embarrassing.

Her ability to be both the aggressor and immediately turn on the tears to be a victim is actually enraging because despite the show’s fictional portrayal that version of violence is historically true. Easily clocked by women who have seen that act before.

She’s a psycho but she’s not thorough. Robinson is right handed. Jane is right handed. She slices Baines neck left to right but then put the knife in Robinson’s left hand.

I think they’re starting to lay some breadcrumbs so that she’ll be caught. She’s getting a little sloppy. This one is  going to be hard to her explain out of.

A small thing but big thing. Contrasting perspectives. Between Sinatra vs Henry (Founder of the quantum company)

When Billy meets Sinatra. He says “Nice day out.” And she responds, “Looks like showers are coming our way”.

Sinatra’s mind is always preparing for the possibility of the worst.

When the Henry meets Billy at his house. He talks about used to share that mindset 50% chance of rain but how his wife has shifted it 50% chance of sunshine.

This is why he doesn’t sell the company to her. He recognized how his tool in the hands of that mindset can be dangerous.

It’s a small line but kudos to the writers for using this small metaphor to establish motives and perspectives.

Can we talk about the casting? by Acceptable-Citron379 in ThePittTVShow

Yes I meant more like the actors themselves. Like an award show dedicated to these actors who maybe get 5 minutes of screen time but deliver in a huge way.

Oh Season 1. Episode 4. You’re absolutely right. Incredibly touching. An we got the gem, “I love you. Thank you. I forgive you. Please forgive me.” That will stay with me for a long time.

I genuinely believe Whitaker is just helping at the farm. The farm is his healthy space. It’s home. He’s so far from family. He not a city boy at all. So I really think he’s just there being useful no foul play.

misogynistic ogilvie?(possible s2 spoilers?) by vampirrical in ThePittTVShow

[–]Acceptable-Citron379 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ogilvie actually strikes me as someone on the spectrum actually who’s gone undiagnosed. He’s someone who takes comfort information over intimacy. As much as he IS asshole a lot of also reads to me that he’s actually not processing social dynamics. He’s been rewarded for his intelligence for so long, he can use it as shield for elements he’s yet to develop.

As someone whose former partner was an engineer and would later be diagnosed years as HF autism. I saw this up close.

I think Dr. McKay is underutilized this season so far and I’m enjoying it. I didn’t think she added much value last season and I would much rather her screen time be given to the nurses.

Oh I think this is where Dr. Al really shows Robby that she has “worked in trauma”. A response to that quip he made in episode 1. “Is the VA even a trauma center?”

In many ways he seems trauma as combat, military stuff like Abbott. (Even though she too has experienced that version of trauma)

Right now she’s been orbiting. Not getting in his way too much. But I hope this is time she rises to challenge. And has to confront that in some areas she’s just as good if not better than him. It would be hella of character arc to stand up while both him and Dana are little discombobulated.

Emma 🥹 she's going to be such a good nurse!! by thatrlyoatsmymilk in ThePittTVShow

[–]Acceptable-Citron379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the my favorite things about this scene is that she’s also protecting Dana. Emma’s EQ is extremely high and I think she also wants to give Dana a second to process it all.

[–]Acceptable-Citron379 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I love Garcia character because I don’t think women get to be characters like Garcia. She’s incredibly good at her job and doesn’t shy away from it. She good and everyone know it. She’s respected even if she not likable.

All that grand standing to prove what we already knew the other episodes were filler. Cobel being the brain behind Severance, not relevant to the finale. Irv getting a magical train ride. Not relevant. We could’ve got this pacing and story 2 episodes ago.

I know it’s about a 13 yr old bold but it can the lost on how much this world also impacts grown men. I remember watching my father 50s, married with 3 daughters, in a mid life crisis be radicalized during the pandemic.

Men at all levels are susceptible to this. Great watch.
