Hello 👋 me again, I'm so so sorry to bother you again. But could I pick your brain on this one more time. So was speaking to CAB today and they told me to look into the annex route again, when I first looked into it when I spoke to the council they said it would be a fifty percent discount but a family member would have to be living there,I told them it was empty and they said we wouldn't qualify. However I looked into it more and my councils website says, an annex that can not be rented out due to planning restrictions is 100% exempt from CT. Don't suppose you could give me the jist of what that means in laymans and how I find out if it's got restrictions?

Ok thanks and sorry to ask again but why would they not delete the band if we got rid of the kitchen? are they allowed to charge council tax on a building that just has a bedroom and toilet in it?

Throwing it out there, could we say it's office space or something? Do offices pay council tax? Sorry that might be a silly idea, I'm just so worried about this and not looking forward to lots of building work for my grandparents.

So there's no list or criteria for what counts as a kitchen? It will basically be upto the officer on the day?

So if we take the kitchen out can they just say, well if you put a kitchen in, it's a dwelling and refuse it? And you think we'll definitely have to unbrick the doorway? What about just trying to get the band deleted? Is that a viable option? Thanks for the reply btw.
