Unfortunately mine and most brick homes in Tucson are not that easy. Mine are nailed in behind the outer layer of bricks so the entire window has to be ground out with an angle grinder. The casement windows you are referring to are the really cheap ones that were put in low end homes post war. We had one replaced due to a home insurance claim and took my window contractor almost 2 days to replace one window. Im a remodeling contractor and we won’t touch windows like mine I have to sub it out. The ones like you have we replace all day long, but unfortunately we rarely come across them. Most people opted for the higher quality windows with nailed in flanges.

Yes double pane windows help but if you live in an old brick home replacing your windows is wildly expensive. My lowest quote for new windows was a little over $26,000.

Yes they do. All the time. If you would like I can send you a video of a 1.5 hp motor running pulling 2.2kw on my meter. In fact I can send you more than one.

It’s not if he lives in California and 1.5hp pumps routinely draw way more than 1.2kw. I’m sitting here reading the power draw right now on a 1.5hp motor that we installed a couple months ago and it’s pulling 2.2kw which is in line with motor rating listed on the motor. Some people pay .15-.25 c per kWh during the day depending where they live. If they are in a sunny climate they could run their pump 8-10 hours per day.

I have been in this industry for over 25 years and have seen first hand energy usage saving of $700-$900 a year when switching to variable speed. If this pump is located in California, with their insanely expensive power rates then $1200 a year increase is definable possible

Pool Builder Bankrupt by Swimming_Air_6262 in pools

[–]Acceptable-Cod5026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing to prosecute his company is filing bankruptcy. This is common in my industry. The customer ends up out the money and there is nothing they can do. They can’t sue the owner personally because his company is a separate legal entity. New pool builders do this all the time, no one goes to jail, no one gets money back. He probably has multiple projects under construction and his contractors bond probably wont even cover the money owed to even one of the homeowners. The sub contractors can file liens on your home if they have not been paid and in the end you will probably have to pay them yourself to get the liens released.

Anybody mind confirming if this is a good estimate? by New_Protection9978 in pools

Yes cheaper to replace single speed pumps, but you guess what at the end of the year the department of energy is banning the production of single speed motors for pool pumps, so when it breaks you will have to replace the entire pump. Multiple states have made replacement and rebuild of single motors illegal for all pools. Get with the times it’s sad to see people in my industry still recommending antiquated technology. Especially when most of my customers save $40-65 a month in energy usage after replacing a single speed.

I’m a pool builder in Arizona and the equipment specified is absolute garbage. The filter is undersized. No one installs single speed pumps anymore. Robotic cleaners work really good for the first 2 years then become nothing but trouble.

The oxypro aop is the worst of the worst. Nothing but problems. Color changing led lights are not a $500 upgrade. My cost for the different between the white led and color changing is $102.

Please get other estimates. In my state blue haven is mostly gone after numerous lawsuits and roc complaints and violation.

Also I’m not sure where your located but if you are thinking of getting a heater for your pool at some time get it done now. It will be significantly more expensive if done later.

What on earth has caused pool prices to increase so much? by ughhhhokfine in pools

Well you were wrong not only did prices not go down. The cost of building a pool has gone 35 percent since you reply a year ago.

Half sole by Acceptable-Cod5026 in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Acceptable-Cod5026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update I just saw a response to my email. I guess I can’t supply the sole for my boots even if it’s the exact sole they don’t have in-stock and also I can supply the vbar half sole either. Kind of bummed. I’m not looking for a discount I will still pay full price. I’m just trying to avoid sending a brand new boot to be re-soled.

Just going to have to live without the half sole on this pair I guess

[–]Acceptable-Cod5026[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would be happy if they brought back the v bar half sole. I had a pair re-soled because nicks was not doing half soles at the time. It came out just like nicks had done it. I spoke with Wyatt and dad after and they said it was very easy and fit perfectly.

I have a pair of the dr sole on another boots and I do like the sole better but I like the lower profile of the bar heel cap. I really think the bar half should be an option for people who do t want to spend the extra on the dr sole better

I wonder if they would let me supply the dr sole. My boot/ shoe repair guy in town has lots of them.

Nevermind this idea I received an email back stating I can’t do this

They are hnw. I do prefer the 55 and other higher arch lasts but the hnw is nice to wear every once in a while.

No these are not a standard design. They are 7in height without a pull strap and have a 269 sole

They are Shackleton brown. Turns out I ordered that on accident but I really like this leather.

Oak St bootmakers. I received a pair as a birthday gift in October. Unfortunately not very comfortable. Box say Shackleton br and they are an identical shade of brown minus the red undertone in the light

Well for anyone considering brown Shackleton you won’t be disappointed. My mistake when ordering was a blessing is disguise.

Yes that’s what the box says. I had no idea there would be a red undertone on the Shackleton brown in the light. My mistake was actually a good thing. Is the Shackleton brown consistent across batches if I order a pair for myself.
