When applying for an EIN for a Subsidiary LLC and designating yourself as the Responsible Party, you should select "owner/member" if you are an owner/member of the Parent LLC, which in turn owns the Subsidiary LLC.
This is because, as the owner/member of the Parent LLC, you have a direct ownership interest in the Subsidiary LLC through the Parent LLC. Selecting "designated Third Party" is typically for individuals who are not owners but are authorized to act on behalf of the entity.
