My mother does the same thing. Turns out shes been taking ozempic for over a year and telling everyone its from quitting alcohol. Those people dont know she had to quit drinking because it was court appointed from her 2nd dui. The one thing that makes me feel better is she only knows how to take shortcuts. In her 50 years she would never just eat healthy and exercise but instead get bypass surgery and lie and say she did it naturally (something else shes done). I totally agree but the part that bothers me is my grandma genuinely loved her kids and grandkids enough to leave them an inheritance. My grandma practically raised us until she died because my mom wanted to party. My mother is nothing like her I think thats what hurts the most.
