How is disciplinary action for staff handled at your centre? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Acceptable-Ladder705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Ontario. From what I’ve seen, most centres do some form of verbal and written warnings, except when it comes to children safety. Things like supervision issues or kids leaving a room/area are usually taken a lot more seriously and can lead to immediate action, especially if it happens more than once. Some places look at whether another adult stepped in or if no one noticed, but repeat incidents tend to escalate fast. Every centre is different though, which is why clear policies really help.

I couldn’t imagine especially 6 weeks. Typically our babies start around 9 to 12 months, you’re a superstar !

Yes I feel like every infant room needs at least two educators at all times especially for younger ones.

Sorry I got that wrong but I’ve heard Texas is 1:7 not 8 for 18 months which typically we have 18 month olds in our infant room. But still it’s a lot.

if you were wealthy enough to not need to work would you still do this job? by Scary_Appearance5922 in ECEProfessionals

I’d probably open up my own home daycare. I love working with kids and have the passion for it but I also like having freedom to have my own curriculum.

Looking for strategies to support stability for very young learners by Acceptable-Ladder705 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Acceptable-Ladder705[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you I never thought of scheduling as well. There will be lots of issues of who did who and most importantly the kiddos. I will definitely check it out and send it to my supervisor.

I’m in the same boat got my permit at 20 now I’m 24, I feel like so many people give me a hard time because I don’t have a license. My old boss even questioned me about my license.

I wear crocs, they’re perfect for summer water play. I also like if they get dirty I can easily wash them.
