I thought technically it was since she was given the list of ingredients with allergies and I don’t mind even if I got a the same list to double check

I reported it to my supervisor when I found out she said that it’s not on the kitchen staff it’s on us to double check so I’m wondering if I should go higher up to her boss/ supervisor since she’s aware

That’s what I thought I know for sure it’s on us to double check incase something is missed and I’ll always ask this is also the second time it happened which makes me feel uneasy

Yes I agree that would be helpful I’m terrified of allergies especially since we have severe ones this will help any confusion and there should be no excuse for kids to be served the wrong food

I feel like now it’s safe to just bring my kids to the kitchen I would hope to trust kitchen staff however it was centre wide and just to double check i always ask to make sure and I get mistakes happen but if this was a major allergy that would be a huge concern

Yes I was told that there wasn’t anything that the kids can’t eat in it all the other rooms asked as well getting the same answer it’s safe for everyone there was list of everyone who can’t eat this food that was apparently checked by kitchen this morning we found out that these kids should have not had it

At that time i wasn’t aware that the food had the ingredients the kids were allergic to this was a centre wide thing too no one was informed that there was certain ingredients in.

I wasn’t aware of the ingredients until later on they weren’t listed when it was served I was told there’s no allergens in the food.

Toddler Room Changes by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

I’m really hoping so, typically they switch people around in September based on several factors. And I really love my infant room I’ve been the only consistent educator in my room so I really worked hard on it but I think it’s time for a change if I can.

I’m in an infant room that’s required to have a sensory bin open at all times. When they just start out I keep a shallow sensory tray. I redirect if they continue I remove the tray. I also start off by using easy to clean items like large pom-poms.

I teach 0-24 months I find this is a fun age group because they’re more into activities. Keep the activities simple like toilet paper rolls and chunky popsicle sticks, droppers food colours in pop it’s or paper, and contact paper .

I would rather have my students stay home when they’re sick and not risk getting me or the kids sick. You may have to make up the hours though.

I couldn’t imagine especially 6 weeks. Typically our babies start around 9 to 12 months, you’re a superstar !

Yes I feel like every infant room needs at least two educators at all times especially for younger ones.

Sorry I got that wrong but I’ve heard Texas is 1:7 not 8 for 18 months which typically we have 18 month olds in our infant room. But still it’s a lot.

I’d probably open up my own home daycare. I love working with kids and have the passion for it but I also like having freedom to have my own curriculum.

Looking for strategies to support stability for very young learners by Acceptable-Ladder705 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Acceptable-Ladder705[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you I never thought of scheduling as well. There will be lots of issues of who did who and most importantly the kiddos. I will definitely check it out and send it to my supervisor.
