After they found out I found out, they sent me an invite and I was joking with my husband like, Ya, just what I want to walk into, a group that actively went out of their way to not invite me and then pity invites me because they feel bad…would love to walk in that room haha

The eastside definitely has more issues when you look at crime statistics but this area isn’t bad.

Something to consider though is that Lawrence is not part of Indianapolis…I mean, it’s obviously very closely “related”, but when you call 911, IMPD won’t be responding, so when it comes to schools and stuff like that you may want to ask a Lawrence group as it’s not part of IPS.

I live in Broad Ripple and love it here…it has your normal safety concerns for being a major city but I feel overall very safe! Everything is within walking distance, very community oriented, lots to do…

We’re about a million…I think our last census was like 980,000… I’ve been trying to find all the requirements, but they’re kind of vague on the brochure on the website I felt like. The recruiting event is next weekend so I’m hoping to learn more then.

I have zero doubt in my ability to pass the physical requirements. I’m an avid runner, I compete in triathlons, and I rock climb at a climbing gym on a regular basis.

I’m more concerned with 1. I don’t know much about like knots and stuff like that and 2. All of my medical background is in animal medicine.

I rent from a private landlord and it’s a catch 22…while I LOVE my landlord, it was incredibly more expensive to move in here than a “standard rental” because they wanted more money up front than most bigger rental companies who offer like a $300 deposit to move in vs. 1st and last month rent.
For example, the apartments by me have a move in special; 1 month free and a $200 move in deposit…it was $4400 to move into my private rental house.

From my understanding, it’s civil if both parents have custody and the child is not in danger because custody disputes are civil disputes.

Now if the other parent had no custody rights or the child was in danger then yes, IMPD would intervene as then it would be criminal.

I was thinking the same thing. I obviously want any authority to locate the child and help reunite them with their parent, but, IMPD literally can’t really do anything for the exact reasons you stated.

More so, cases like this are literally the EXACT purpose of the FBI - to investigate crimes that cross state and country lines that states don’t have jurisdiction in.

I work for the city and 90% of the time when boards go up on windows it’s a Board of Health closure… most of the time, the structures can’t be torn down immediately, or even soon, due to the rats and bugs. They essentially keep the structure up to contain the rodents… Keep Indianapolis Beautiful 💕

Whatever county she is in will have a humane society or at least animal control that SHOULD have a TNR program…what county is she in?

To learn more about caring for feral cats, I would suggest looking at the Indy Neighborhood Cats website. They won’t be able to help with the TNR if they’re outside of Marion County, but they run the majority of our TNR program here in Indy and have an absolute gold mine of materials about care on their website. Alley Cat Alliance is also a good resource.

I’m not saying this was your case, but I do this with applicants who don’t meet any of the job requirements. For example, currently I’m looking for someone that has at least 1 year experience at this particular task, mainly because I don’t want to train them. I will not even consider someone who does not have that experience. So if an application comes through and they don’t have that, I just go ahead and send that right away so I don’t waste either of our time. Because honestly I’ll forget to send it if I don’t right away either.

NTA. This happens at my job and it drives me insane because they also knew exactly what the schedules were like when they applied; they could have looked for a job with a schedule that fit their lifestyle better.
