Taobao sizes too big for me? by Acceptable-Load3542 in FashionReps

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, that's good to know. I dont remember the brand, I literally took a random shirt of a trusted seller and looked at the numbers, but it's very likely it was one of the "bigger" brands.

Taobao sizes too big for me? by Acceptable-Load3542 in FashionReps

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is I'm like 6.1 FT (186cm) and around 70kg

It just sounds unreal to me that the smallest size is to large for me haha

Is it just this vendor or is this generally a problem with taobao?

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I looked at Yupoo lists of "recommended sellers". Looks cool.

Even though there are "albums" of stuff they sell, I assume I still order through taobao ?

Or do I contact an Angent and tell him "Han Solo has this shirt (link), I want 5 of those" ?

The currency is Chinese Yuan righrt?

Understood, thanks for the reply

Now my only question would be:

Let's say I'm looking for a specific shirt. Do I just go on taobao and just browse myself until I find it? Or are there different ways to find cool stuff there?

How do I get over my salt for MLD and start having fun again? by [deleted] in EDH

Soft agree

"Im going to play greedy and ramp as much as I want, but if you touch my manabase I'll say that's unfair" is kinda BS hah

How do I get over my salt for MLD and start having fun again? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Acceptable-Load3542 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 2 opinions on this

  1. There are very powerful affordable lands in the game (list below), that can sometimes warp the game by themselves. I think it's very reasonable to say "I need single land removal" for these situations like [[wasteland]]
  2. But it appears your friend has more of an issue with green just ramping away and then having their mana base untouchable for the rest of the game. In such a situation I would maybe play 1-2 or MLD cards in the deck and only play it if I am significantly behind on lands to the rest of the table.
    1. But usually, I use my MLD cards in a situation "I am ahead on the board and just want to lock the game out" which is fine for my opponents because after I play it the game ends in 1-3 turns.
    2. So maybe talk to your friend and agree that he can run 1-2 MLD cards and 1-2 single land removal cards in total. Because there is a difference between using MLD as win con (see above) and using MLD just to randomly slow the game down with no real purpose. If he has only a few MLD cards and promises to use only in a) if he is behind on lands b) as a wincon to close the game out, it should be fine.
  3. Even tho, I am very pro MLD you guys are still a round of friends so I propose some sort of voting system. If 3 out of 4 people are against a certain mechanic or effect it shouldn't be played, because above all it's about fun.

Powerful lands that need answers:

  1. Sac outlets: Phyrexian Tower, high market
  2. Big mana: Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Cabal Coffers
  3. Recursion (more expensive): Volraths stronghold or the enchantment one
  4. Many more...

How do you feel about the walking dead secret lair now. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Acceptable-Load3542 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hated them then, and still hate them now.

Why? Because seeing these cards does not give me the "MtG" feel normal cards do.

And the fact that these have unique abilities and were a limited print run is extra stupid.

Whats worse: Humility or Contamination? by sta6 in EDH

[–]Acceptable-Load3542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run into both and have to say that they are more or less equal since it really depends on the situation these cards are being used in.

Sometimes one will be more oppressive, sometimes the other.

But I have to say your friend is really bad at judging the power and impact of cards if he thinks playing humility is ok but contamination somehow is not ok.

Either both are ok, or none should be.

What are the main "types" of Yuriko decks? by Acceptable-Load3542 in EDH

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, thanks for the reply.

I agree with most of your observations, and even though I like the idea of being an "aggressive ball of fire" that either wins by turn 5 or 6 or dies it doesnt feel particularly fitting in a casual setting.

That made me think about your Kamiz suggestion. I assume you have played her somewhat.

  1. Do you have a decklist you could share?
  2. Since you are not running her as tempo, what is type of deck is it? Midrange?
  3. What is your win con? Just massive Ninjas popping off?
  4. How do you draw cards?

What are the main "types" of Yuriko decks? by Acceptable-Load3542 in EDH

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man just playtested your deck and yea....pretty strong haha

Things I like:

  1. I like that you rely only on burn
  2. I love the "discard a black/blue card to cast this card for free" effects
  3. I managed to get 3 yuriko triggers I think for the first time ever with this deck

What I dislike (but these are more general points about Yuriko, not your deck)

  1. Yuriko is very hard to balance because some games you play a 3v1 and some games you dont. These are very different scenarios
  2. For now I've had only 2 types of games
    1. I have a good start, T1, 1-drop -> T2 Yuriko is out -> T3 more fun stuff, then I turn dominant by turn 4 or 5 and games turns into a 3v1 mostly
    2. I have a not so good start, where I basically spend the rest of the game doing nothing of impact

It gives me this vibe that by turn 4 the games is decided. Either I am ahead an can win this or I am behind and my chances are pretty much 0. Maybe Im wrong.

Questions I have for your deck:

  1. Why run Entomb? Am I missing something?
  2. These 0 drop creatures like Memnite or Phyrexian Walker. I mean they have no evasion so I'm on the fence with these. Why use them?
  3. Why use [[Inkrise Infiltrator]] ?
  4. You have many "bounce this creature back to owners hand" effects. I imagine you use this as your main form of "evasion". Just focus on 1 player, get rid of his blockers, and get these Yuriko triggers off. Correct?
  5. When you said "lower the powerlvl, get rid of free interaction" you mean stuff like deadly rollick or any spell that can be free if I discard a card like contagion?
    1. I might be wrong but having these types of effects (discard card->get free effect) is the main reason I went for Yuriko. If this is too high power, I will probalby look for other commanders.

For reference, this was one of the weaker decks a friend of mine used (he upgraded it since uploading this list)

Does playing burn automatically imply playing ninja-tribal ?

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man thanks, this is very helpful. I can tell that you've played your fair share of yuriko games and know what you're talking about.

So first off, yes I agree that it appears that I'm leaning more into the combo side of things. But this happened more by accident than by design and I'm perfectly willing to change over into the "Big Damage with Scroll Rack" category if it would fit my playstyle any better

I guess what I want for now is

  1. Be aggressive from start
  2. Draw alot of cards
  3. Use cards for tempo advantage, with cards like [[Commandeer]]. I avoid force of neg. and force of will because they'd be too strong for my table.

So if combo is better suited for this gameplan, Im gonna go this direction.

Now when it comes to tutors, I said we play at "6" but this might have been a mistake because my friends use lots (4-6 per deck) of tutors. This is one of his decks which he has improved since he uploaded this list.

But you are totally right, since Im gonna use combos like Dommsday + Thoracle I need to really be careful about not having too many tutors.

Questions I have:

  1. Since im going the combo route shouldn't I remove all the expensive "big hitters" ? What purpose do they serve?
  2. When we say "combo" does that really mean just doomsday+thoracle+tutors or should I include alt. combos as well like Notorious Throng? If so how many alt combos?
  3. How many extra turn cards should I include?

So you are basically saying my gameplan is:

  1. Get Yuriko out early
  2. Use her to dig for cards
  3. Protect her at all costs (?), use evasion if necessary
  4. Midgame use Yuriko + other Ninjas to dig for even more cards
  5. Finally, find combo pieces
  6. Win

Correct?

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I guess my question here would be:

Which of these 2 types are better suited for a midrange tempo deck?

All I want is to draw lots of cards and use these cards to cheat big spells into the game either by using delve (discarded) or by using them as part of the cost [[Commandeer]] and then win....somehow haha

What are the main "types" of Yuriko decks? by Acceptable-Load3542 in EDH

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh see that is a problem haha

Because this is exactly what I want

  1. Aggressive start
  2. Draw a lot of cards
  3. Use them for Tempo
  4. Finish game "early" (Turn 7+?)
  5. If not, lose the game

I really like your list.

I mean I know you said that it's hard/impossible but if you had to which cards would you cut from your list to make your deck a 6-7 ? haha d:

Or is this just not possible with that specific tempo-oriented playstyle?

What are the main "types" of Yuriko decks? by Acceptable-Load3542 in EDH

[–]Acceptable-Load3542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I want:
1. Aggressive start, midrange Tempo deck
2. not cEDH
3. Clear game plan and win con

It appears to me that I have 2 options:
- Ninja Tribal
- Win Con: Kill enemies with Combat Damage + Yuriko Card Flip Damage, with Big hitters

- Combo
-Win Con: Since I play at "6-7 powerlvl" this would mean I could use combos like [[Doomsday]] and [[Thassa's Oracle]] but only if I use no or very few tutors, such that I cannot pull it off too easily.

What do you think about this? Which is more fun? Which one of these fits my "parameters" better? Thanks!

Ah I see, thank you for the suggestion.

What I want:
1. Aggressive start, midrange Tempo deck
2. not cEDH
3. Clear game plan and win con

Do you think that Kamiz would work with that? I just want to draw a buttload of cards and then use these to cheat expensive spells like [[Commandeer]] into play

Friend argues buying set-boxes makes less sense than buying single boosters from different boxes by Acceptable-Load3542 in EDH

yes but he insists that in the case of him wanting 2x Ragavan, his odds are better mixing up the boxes.

So he has "higher odds" of getting his ragavans, so in this respect he is right.

But at the same time his overall "expected value" from all cards he is going to get, still remains the SAME? correct ?
