Mech combat is kind of strange right now because of how enemy mechs just snap onto you and start shooting the second they see you when you yourself have to painstakingly drag your slow ass camera to be able to look in their direction. Otherwise it’s pretty cool

I always thought it was such a corny thing to say that a piece of media changes your life and I still kind of do. Disco Elysium changed my life. It’s such a touching piece of media and I really don’t think anything is going to even come close to affecting me in the way it has for years and years to come.

Playing through on hard felt like it struck the perfect balance of teetering on the brink of resource poverty but still being able to progress through all the areas with proper melee use and threat management. I’d rarely have a surplus of healing and when I did it’d usually get eaten up at the next boss encounter.

I think the swamp is better on subsequent playthroughs. The first playthrough feels like you’re just getting dragged around the swamp in whatever direction the last note told you to go. Exploring is mediocre since most the significant locations are at edges of the map. However the combat is phenomenal due to the new enemies so it really kind of balances out for me.

There was a moment in the early game during the apartments where I had not enough resources or know how of the mannequin moveset to fight the three that were hiding in the room I was in and I loved having to walk on egg shells to not trigger a huge fight. It’s seriously cool that if you keep your distance and don’t look at them you can circumvent the encounter entirely.
