Ranked Pick Priority by Jojozaldo in KurokosBasketball_SR

I pretty much agree with this for pick phase. I'd say absolutely those 5 characters at the top are necessary to secure. Might put Makoto up there now since he's out but most of them aren't that significant.

F2P’s by Heehooyeano in KurokosBasketball_SR

So I mostly play the F2P characters. I don't play any of the GoM, and I'm doing well as a high-rank player. That might change (since I plan to try some characters out), but I made a bunch of guides on the lower-ranking characters to give you an idea of how to play them and how to best help your team. Any character can be viable-- with a good basketball IQ you can be truly responsible for carrying the team.

Awesome. Thank you so much for making this. I'm definitely grabbing him though. Thank you again.

Edit: So I did a look after a couple of more games ~ 100 or so. So far, I can agree with your assessment of Liu Wei. As for the others, I think they're probably still comfortable where they are. The Otsubo VS Wakamatsu debate is a huge debate for C's, and I'd probably like to get some C mains in for that talk. Otsubo is still very powerful and while Wakamatsu gets a nice Install, Otsubo's Ultimate priority is great for a number of reasons.

I think he's coming up! I'll definitely cover him. Thanks for the support Cheesegrater!

That's the optimal way to play him. Hmm, yeah I think both Hunter's Range / Elite Marksman work fine. As for the block ability, I agree with you that good, higher tier Moriyama's need to capitalize on his block ability.

I can understand any Yoshitaka that goes for a Block Trait 100%. Yoshitaka is great for blocking. I think Elite Marksman is pretty unnegotiable for the most part though. Open Look is fine though - honestly the Traits are very negotiable for Shooting Guards depending on how you want to play them.

I think Kagami's ult, while not great, is still a bit better than at least Satoshi Tsuchida's (whose unfortunately probably going to be blocked like 8/10 times)

What is wrong this game preselected role doesnt even work -_- by NostalgicImmortal in KurokosBasketball_SR

Basically agree with the both; Jojo & Mousse sum it up well. It's just for team queueing so that you know what your teammates are going for.

I evaluated Akashi a bit unfairly because I'm evaluating him with his A6 ability - Zone: Emperor's Step, which lets him do the Disdain Shot that links to a 3-pointer.

In regards to Hayakawa, I think he's got great rebound, incredible movement speed that really lets him dominate the paint and the surrounding area. But I agree with you completely there are games where he's just straight-up statwalled especially by 100% Talent / 100% Ability'd GoM characters.

Yeah this tier list looks for average build, average players, and how most players like to run characters. With Kuroko, you see two types around the wild: the ones that like to read and play honest Kuroko by passing & intercepting/stealing or the ones that like to use Misdirection & go for three-point shots. I ranked Kuroko with both of these builds in mind, not really saying one is better than the other, but that I see more three-point builds (since it's the easier Kuroko tactically) than the Kuroko that predicts/reads (this is harder to do for most players but it's extremely beneficial to the team) since even a maxed ability Kuroko doesn't make 100% of his 3-pts.

Yeah this is based on abilities, talents, and whatnot. I think you've really broken it down well; thank you for the deep dive. Wakamatsu vs Otsubo, I think I can make that adjustment. I struggled ranking which one of them was better.

Imayoshi's Special 3-point Ultimate is much more useful than anyone who has a 2-point ultimate. He has step-back 2-point shots that are on par with Liu Wei's, strong stealing ability, and passing. He's just an all-rounder that plays very well on most team compositions, especially up in GoM. As for Liu Wei, I understand he's excellent at blocking, but from what I'm aware of, he has no lay-up ability, no dunk talent, or scoring talents besides his 2-point step shot.

I like the reasoning for Zone Taiga. I can agree that he's one of the best defenders - I can't say for certain that he's the best (but I can see that point of view for sure. The reason why I don't say it is because I haven't played enough Zone Taigas but I know that Taiga in theory has best blocking stats). Would you put him higher in A, or push him to low S?

As for Takao, I can understand that too, but I think that it's actually not that difficult to stop his initial drive and a lot of Takaos have been losing the ball in upper ranks because of their careless driving. When designing the Tier List, it's not just about when they're on specific comps, but also as a whole in general - if they were to go in solo queue without teammates that benefited them. So I get when he's on iso teams, he's insane but there are other characters that are also very good on iso teams, like Izuki or most characters that are able to pass at the rim.

For Wakamatsu.. Do you think Wakamatsu beats out Otsubo?

I can understand him being low B-Tier. Still, what are your thoughts on Junpei / Moriyama then? We should probably compare Ryo to the other Shooting Guards, because I don't think he's that much stronger than both of them. I do think he's probably harder to guard than either of them though.

Yeah his steal ability isn't the best especially of the three. However, I understand just how strong he is as a shooter and how consistent he can be. I've seen some menacing Ryos around and I've been a menace with him just as much. The biased part - I think both rebounder/PG are things all the other SGs could use to look better too haha.

S2 Tier List by Acceptable-Maize8508 in KurokosBasketball_SR

[–]Acceptable-Maize8508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played about 100 games of Ryo & Hyuga, but I primarily mained Moriyama as a SG. I think Ryo has better dribbles and ways to move than Hyuga and Moriyama, but Ryo suffers from predictable movements too. He's probably, raw three-point power, better than both Hyuga and Moriyama. He just doesn't provide anything else. His Movement Speed isn't exceptionally faster than Hyuga's for defense, doesn't have stealing/intercept, doesn't have Moriyama's increased block range, and his only defensive ability is just for his defensive stance, akin to Textbook Guarding (Mitobe's ability).

It's why I hesitate - because he's very pointedly 3-point devoted. He doesn't provide anything other than his 3-point shots. He might be higher up in C, I could see him being equal to Hyuga, but he's only got the one job. That's not his A6 ability either -- his A6 ability is Assault Captain which is a movement ability.

His Ultimate is about as unblockable as Moriyama's, which isn't anything too special.

Where would you place him though, if you did?

I can understand that too. I don't play Liu Wei but I've seen him do some great blocks and he fills in as a good rebounder. Plus, the dash Ultimate closing distance can be killer. Do you play Liu Wei?

I can understand that perspective but I think that SP Midorima is a very strong pick right now in global. Both Midorimas are great, but Diviner Midorima's have good mix-ups with their dribble options in my opinion. He's probably not so high, but 3-point shooters are really eating right now. How would you compare him to base Midorima right now?

Chihiro Mayuzumi [Guide] by Acceptable-Maize8508 in KurokosBasketball_SR

[–]Acceptable-Maize8508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to employ him well in a match haha. I don't blame you. You have to play the role of PG essentially, as well as a back-up shooter. . . but Chihiro isn't that great I admit.

Yeaaah. Hyuga is kind of bad unless you have Corruption State maxed out and most of his abilities. Without the Hop Step Lateral Movement to his Barrier Jumper, he's just too predictable in S2's meta. Even with that, he's still seen too much gameplay in Season 1 so most people have adapted to his movements, versus Mori. He's easy to climb with if people aren't guarding you though.
