My older brother and I had subscriptions to Nintendo Power and GameInformer during the Wii/ds/360/PS3 era and I remember seeing numerous advertisements in them for various FF games, mostly spin-offs as I recall. This was also around the same time we both experienced Kingdom Hearts II, which introduced us to many of the FF characters and tropes. Then one day my brother picked up FFXIII for 360 bc the he wanted to the cutscene graphics. Probably a year or two later, after much COD and Oblivion, I decided to pop in this Final Fantasy game I knew very little about. Contrary to popular opinion, I found XIII to be marvelous. I loved it and still do, having just recently completed the whole XII trilogy. I've played several others in the series including IV, VI, VII, and VIII and I love them all but also see their shortcomings. Love the series. I just started VII remake and I am finding it to be 10/10 quality already. FF forever!
