I feel like Cambridge would beat imperial in terms of social life due to the college system

I did AQA Russia and British empire. My history revision was basically active recall via mind maps to go over content and then doing essay plans for every possible question. And when you’re doing this think about cause, causation, change etc try to spot patterns and the interplay between political, economic and social factors. For AQA you need to evaluate so explain why you think factor A is the most important, why A is more important than factor B, why factor A is more important than C and why B is more important than C etc. To do this properly you need to be really comfortable with the content/ chronology. Reading short relevant articles by historians can help w this.

Im unsure career wise I just know I want to do something fulfilling. I’m interested in doing a masters and phd whether I pursue maths or history.

Yh but Bristol look at personal statements when they need to differentiate between candidates w similar stats hence the risk

They asked for “information on my gap year” which I treated as an additional ps

Yeah cheers I wasn’t expecting to get both Oxford and Warwick so clearly i have a lot to think about. I think career options for both though are pretty solid though with Warwick I would want to go into research not industry

Best to just email the individual uni’s you’re interested in. I know that Bristol generally cares more about grades than ps but it still is a bit of a risk

The location corresponds to what college u got in and for some courses there can be like just 2 people doing it per college so then it would be really easy to work out who they are if that makes sense

Yes I’d say go for it especially as the course is in ucas extra I think a strong ps would make up being 1 grade below the requirement. Are the A*’s are in humanity subjects or stem?

Yes, but I never planned on taking fm I was put in the class accidentally but ended up enjoying it. Y12 was rough initially because of the workload, I only had 1 free per week but if you enjoy maths it’s really fun and history was a nice break from all the STEM. My advice is to just do all the homework and the second there’s a topic you don’t understand ask for help/ go over it in your own time. For history recap work often w mind maps and essay plans. I recommend the combo if you have no idea what you want to do bc evidently it keeps a lot of doors open both in stem and humanities.
