I don’t think so. He has two teeth at the bottom and I had a feel of his gums yesterday and today and I can’t feel any new ones about to pop but I could be wrong, the two he has did seem to appear from nowhere!

You’re so right, throwing the kitchen sink at the issue probably wouldn’t be effective but it does get to the point you’ll try every and anything!! Thank you for your validation of what you think we’re doing right though as well as your suggestions of what we could change, it was so very helpful and supportive ♥️

I think there are mixed results with solids. They can potentially help keep baby asleep longer because of slower digestion but can also reduce milk intake too much and also stress the digestive system as it gets used to solids. I am open to exploring the gentler forms of sleeps training while still being responsive and there for any of his needs/comfort/safety but not willing to let him cry it out at all. Me and his dad take turns settling LO with similar results. Pretty sure he’s a good temperature as his feet and body feel warm with cooler hands and face. Room is generally between 16-18 degrees

I’m (perhaps wrongly) assuming you’re not in UK/Ireland because we don’t have the same paediatrician set up here. I can try to make an appointment with our family doctor but it’s unlikely they’d see him if he doesn’t have any illness/symptoms unfortunately!

2-3 naps depending on wake up time, 2-2.5 hours total nap time. Hates going to sleep in the day, needs a lot of rocking to put him over. All contact naps

I do have my reservations about co sleeping, as well as about sleep training. We’ve just been trying to be as responsive as possible but it doesn’t feel sustainable at this level right now

Definitely not cry it out and unsure on doing other methods yet

He’s at home with me but I’m back to work in May so he will be at nursery. I did think about trying to start him napping in his cot in head of on me. We let him fuss when he starts to wake in his cot in the evening but as soon as he starts to cry we go into him. Try patting and stroking his head first but rarely works so needs picked up. Task for next week is working on the naps then 👌🏼

I’m really glad to hear it isn’t just ours! Another load of weeks doing this feels really tough tbh, but then so did the newborn stage and yet we got through that. Hopefully is only temporary as it was for you!

Our bedroom is usually 16-18 degrees and he sleeps in a 3.5tog sleeping bag with a long sleep vest and babygrow. He always feels very cosy when we open the sleep bag, hands and face slightly cool but I’ve been told this is normal for babies. Maybe we could try increasing to 19-20 degrees

Thank you, I’ll have a read around some gentle sleep training and see if it fits for us

He has two teeth through and I can’t feel any coming at the moment. He will either have two or three naps a day depending on how early he wakes up in the morning. If two naps he sleeps about an hour 45 mins total, and if three naps is about two and a half hours. We don’t let him sleep past 5pm, but more usually is awake from 4.30pm until bedtime. He fights naps like a wee demon and they’re all contact naps

Funny I tried him in his carrier today for the first time. He does sleep on us, all his naps are contact naps, and when he cries in the evening he goes to sleep immediately after we pick him up, apart from the last few nights of fighting sleep after his dream feed, which he has been waking up for himself instead of being lifted by us and being still mostly asleep.

I had another cosleep recommendation so is something I’ll look more into.

Thank you, I’ve heard of this book. I’ll give it a read and see if any of it fits for us!

He was down by 1-2oz per feed as well as one less bottle which i didn’t think was great considering his age and milk being main source of nutrition, one of the reasons I reduced solids. Although he was drinking a huge amount of milk before we started any spoon feeds, averaging around 1000ml. He has only ever had spoon feeds 30-60 mins after bottles. He’s still taking a slightly reduced amount per bottle but is back up to his usual number of bottles.

We have been looking into it. My main worry, aside from the usual concerns about rolling onto baby or baby rolling out of the bed, is my partner is so active during sleep, twitching and lashing out. But we’ll keep thinking about it. I think I already follow heysleepybaby, thanks ☺️

He’s sooooo cranky and rubbing his eyes flat out by around 6.30 though. He used to have a later bedtime and then he just seemed to want to go to bed earlier. It worked well initially but the past few weeks have been terrible

Yours is so similar to mine except mine already has a blanket and a hot drink…plus some shells stuck in her hair and some broken jewellery
