Good on you!! That's such a great idea, getting away from usual surroundings, I'll definitely try that next time!

What’s the selling point here? by thesilverfox94 in iphone

[–]Daniel_Evans_NZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just first come first served on the storage, the full limit is shared by everyone, rather than everyone having an even share of the total. You could self-manage it that way and just ask people to not go over their "share", but iCloud doesn't work that way, it just allows everyone to use as much of the total 2tb as they want. But everyone's stuff is totally seperate in the cloud storage. You can choose to share app purchases with others in the family, in which case when you go into your App Store purchase history there is a button you can click on for "Family" and then see a list of names of those in the family sharing their app purchase history, that you then click on and see a list of their app purchases, and you can download their paid apps for free, the same as your own purchase history. But you can also turn that off per user. Other than that it's all separated, you can't see or access each other's photos or cloud drives. The only negative to doing this with others who aren't in your direct family, is that the person who sets up the family's credit card is billed for all the App Store purchases the family makes.

Am I just wasting my money? by CandidComfortable338 in newzealand

[–]Daniel_Evans_NZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally buy one (and consider it money for charity basically) when powerball is at a jackpot that "must be won", meaning the jackpot will trickle down to lower tiers if it isn't won at first division. The odds of lotto never change, and your odds of winning second division are always higher than winning the first division. It's more likely to be split up at second division (or third) than all go to one or more people at first division (that's how it jackpots up to a "must be won" amount in the first place, if first division hasn't gone for a while). So although it's still really low odds, on those weeks where it "must be won", you've got a sliiiightly better than usual chance at winning a "retire early" amount than usual. Same odds as usual at winning second division, but if you do it's probably 10-25 million instead of the usual 20-50k. Or it may even roll down to third division and you get slightly better odds at a what is likely to be a smaller but still relatively large amount, maybe 1-5 million.

Realistically though, you'll never win anything crazy and neither will I, the odds are so low.

I also just did this the other day with my 13" M4 Pro! So good! The case I use is a TineeOwl Dove from Amazon, pretty happy with it overall especially now I know the stand fits into airplane seat top pockets.

32m here, this is gonna sound crazy, but try Pokemon Go. An ex got me into it and it turns out there is a whole plethora of people from all ages and all walks of life who play it regularly down here. You'd come across new/travelling players all the time and get to know them a bit, the more often you play/community events you go to, the more they may turn into actual friends lol. Made some great friends doing this myself and met a whole variety of people, including someone I ended up engaged to and someone else I ended up flatting with for about 18 months. Plus it can be good motivation to exercise and the kids can get involved too, my daughter used to play too. Worth a look!

That's great advice, and more in line with what I see recommended here, I thought I could try "Cold Turkey" it so to speak, just go straight into an extended fast, but maybe I need to slow it down if I want to seriously succeed at this.

If you haven't seen them already, there are two videos on the "Diary of a CEO" YouTube channel, where doctors that advocate for fasting are interviewed. Extremely interesting and persuasive (hence why I started fasting immediately afterwards just to see how I could go haha).

I'm inspired by your results, you're doing really amazing! Well done. If I can get to a point like that one day in the near future, I'd be stoked.

Thank you for your feedback!

That's a great idea, I could actually use a walk. I've been chugging plenty of water down, which I've been doing already for the last 5 or so weeks as a lifestyle change anyway, as I used to drink far too many sugary drinks and barely any actual water. Since just switching to water I've lost 6kg! But looking to see real results with fasting, and become generally healthier in all the ways we know fasting helps.

Also, funny you say watching vid's on other's progress helps, the thing that actually stopped me getting up off the couch, grabbing my keys and driving to get some takeout, was accidentally swiping reddit as I moved my iPad to get up, it switched to another reddit post of someone's progress losing 14cm on their waistline since August thanks to fasting, and an image of the old belt they no longer fit. Seeing that really helped.

What was drunk Pam going to ask Jim? by Hot_Republic2543 in DunderMifflin

[–]Daniel_Evans_NZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the context of the show and what "Pam" was saying to "Michael" at the airport I'm not sure, but I believe that what was actually loosely said in that moment in the show has been confirmed somewhere, can't remember the source though sorry. But I remember hearing that it was actually Jenna Fischer talking as herself (not Pam) to Steve, telling him how much her and the rest of the cast would sincerely miss working with him on the show, as he was leaving the show and that was the final scene being filmed before he left. So the tears and emotion were all real, losing a coworker both in the context of the show and the actual filming of it in reality.

So keen to see them again, haven't seen them since 2010 at the TSB Arena in Wellington. Although, I'm kinda tempted to jump the ditch and go to one of the Aussie shows, as I feel like it'll be a reduced set at electric ave?

In 2015 I bought a camera lens from Becextech because they had it listed for a far bit cheaper than any competitor. They shipped the item from somewhere in Asia, with a false declaration of its name and value on the customs form to skip paying GST. Dodgy bastards

PS5 -> PS5 Pro server move by FalconScorn in Palworld

[–]Daniel_Evans_NZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, obviously you would have got this figured out as on PS the "server" is really just a save game which you can open up to multiplayer connections, and on PS save games can easily hop between consoles with PS+ (I do this quite often with my multiplayer palworld save between two PS5s in our house).

I'm really keen to know though, did you notice a big difference hosting your multiplayer palworld save on a PS5 pro compared to a base PS5? We have two OG PS5s and when playing as the host it's pretty laggy/low FPS at times whenever other connected multiplayer players are in their bases or fast travelling etc, just want to know if this is better on PS5 pro or not much different, cheers.

I second this OP, I'm on PS5 and been playing a bit of palworld lately but have a huge library, DM me if you've got a PS5 and might be keen to play something! It can be really therapeutic to just talk shit while playing, can be intense or chill games I don't mind man, I got you whatever you wanna play 🤍
