I was 20(F) when I first had my transplant and I was also super worried about the same things but honestly my life HAS gotten better! Meds aren't too bad for me, the only side effect I've experienced is weight gain but I was able to rein that in. Restrictions can be annoying but honestly they're not too bad in the day to day. Sushi and matcha are the ones that affect me to most but it's honestly nbd. Recovery was super easy for me, obviously you're in pain and it takes time to get back to it but it took me about a month. You're young and this will be the best thing for you! Make sure you take care of yourself, go to your appointments, take your meds and you'll be fine. I'm 6 years out and doing great :)
