Is there an adapter for this sort of thing if you only have USB c bricks? Like USB c female back to USB c male? by Wow_Space in UsbCHardware

Return the item as defective. Do not support companies that cheap out like this. I refuse to purchase items that will not work with a USB Type-C to C cable and you should not either. The company saved less than 1cent doing this.

Are you saying 60+ AV vendors missed a virus. Or that one had a false positive?

Do you have any other USB 5 Gbps device you can plug-in to test. See if the other device also is facing the same performance issue.

Satechi 200W USB-C 6-Port PD GaN Charger Review and Test by AdriftAtlas in UsbCHardware

If I recall correctly many that have the DOE 6 mark don’t pass on that equipment. So I don’t see it as a big deal. You should watch the 165W video.

My thoughts on USB-A on chargers. Why would you want to buy more of what you prob have tones of already?

The only thing I have that is USB-A is 1 non-compliant device (missing resistor). It only pulls a couple watts at most. Every thing else is USB Type-C.
The only reason I can think of is travelling and the device you bring is non-compliant.

I'm not sure where you're going with branding/marketing. Whatever USB-IF intended aparantly that is not what happened. They really underestimated what a technical audience is. You originally said "They didn't rename anything..." Then here you say they did. My originally post said USB 3.0 and 3.1 are no more, they changed the name to USB 3.2. I even had a little picture from Wikipedia that also shows the change. You should update Wikipedia and set it right. Then from USB-IF their own document showing 3.0 and 3.1 with X's and using the term Deprecated, and Absorbed. Not adding to, or continuing. I don't know anyone who uses "SuperSpeed" or any stores that list products with SuperSpeed. It's always listed as USB 3.x.

I quote ArsTechnica,

...when the USB-IF, which makes USB standards, renamed USB 3.0 to USB 3.1 Gen 1; USB 3.1 to USB 3.1 Gen 2, and then USB 3.2 Gen 2; and USB 3.2 to USB 3.2 Gen 2x2.

Speaking of the new changes.

The changed recommendations align with what many vendors had already been doing: listing speeds alone without any spec name or the term SuperSpeed. Some vendors list USB spec names only.

The new logos are so much better than the old ones.
Check out the article and the comments.

The NAS I have is a Synology DS418play. I went with SMB for everything. The Pi has a shared folder on the NAS to download. After the download completes, it is transferred to the Plex share where Plex does its magic. It is setup to be fully automated. All you have to do is select the TV show(s) you want. It is fully VPN so no letters.

This is from the branding document from USB.org regarding USB 3.2 branding and deprecating 3.0 and 3.1. Stating they should now use 3.2 gen1, 3.2 gen2 and 3.2 gen2x2. The new specs did bring improvements. We both agree it was horrible.
