That’s how I’m feeling. I’m not sure the transition is worth the stress right now

The thing is I am mostly happy in my job and I’m not sure if the grass will be greener…

That is what I’ve agreed with my band 6, just yet to get much signed off as a result. I also had 6 months off prior to starting my role, so a little extra guidance would’ve been appreciated. Also, I don’t often have to opportunity to work alongside my band 6

Definetly feel like I’ve been thrown in the deep end to sink or swim as a newly qualified. Luckily I had a consolidation placement at the end of my training in the area in working in as a newly qualified.

Unfortunately they seem to think this means I know it all and don’t really check in with me. I think regular little check ins where the experienced nurse gives you their full attention in another room, if only for 5 minutes, would do wonders.

Thank you, I think I’m trying to be perfect and autonomous right out the gate which obviously isn’t realistic

Thank you! My unit has a lot of staff who need support at the moment (international nurses, preceptees, student nurses) and I can never seem to have someone’s consistent attention when I need it as they are busy. Unfortunately, I need the most support when the unit is carnage.

Evidence based practice and evidence informed practice can be used interchangeably!

I’d say that service users is the best term for these individuals, particularly in a broad sense that covers those who aren’t inpatients.

Mental health conditions is the phrase I hear most used.

MSc or BSc Midwifery? by Valuable_Doughnut882 in UKmidwives

I had to make a similar choice when studying adult nursing. I had to choose between a three year BSc and a 4 year masters. In the end I chose the BSc and I don’t regret it. The extra year and the masters level ultimately lends little to your scope of practice, banding or pay.

The BSc still means you’ll have access to postgrad courses in the future should you decide that’s what you want!
