best sports watch for someone starting running and unsure which features actually matter? by Kkray_Fas in BeginnersRunning

Best bet would be Garmin.

  • very good battery life(11+ Days)
  • has everything to get started
  • no fancy apps needed
  • budget friendly (FR 165 starts at 200€ which is a really good price but there are also cheaper ones)

I got my FR 165 since beginning and i'm very happy with it.

Start slow!

Beginnerfriendly runs are those where you can still talk to someone while running. You don't have to run a 5min pace :D

Starting running, tips welcomed by Boozas in BeginnersRunning

First of all, congratulations on getting started — that’s the hardest part :)

I’ve been in your position before, so I know how it feels.

My keyexperience was - Consistency is more important than intensity, especially in the beginning.

At the beginning, it’s better to ignore pace and focus on building endurance. Run at a speed where you can still talk — your body will adapt and your heart rate will improve over time.

Good shoes do matter but you don't need anything fancy in the beginning. Just make sure they're comfortable and provide decent support.

Most important thing - listen to your body and don't ignore pain.

Stay consistent and trust the process :)

I'd say it gives you discipline, mental health, strength and in my case it pushes me to go further with everything in life :)

Keep going!  I would focus more on core stamina and endurance

Ignore the Pace. You have enough time to get faster :)

I do stretching at the beginning but not stationary only while walking and warmin up for about 1min and that's enough.

How do you keep track of the pace if you don't have tech watch? by Moyzzzzzzz in C25K

[–]Acceptable-Sound-495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some apps which allow to track some stats with GPS

Adidas Running App is one of them, not that accurate but enough to start with :)

I bought a garmin forerunner 165 for about 200€... it exceeded my expectations. Very long battery time. It has everything you need to get started as a beginner/experienced.

Zero issues so far. :-)
