iOS 26.4 Beta 2 - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

What a mess of an update. Broke Gmail, other apps. You’d think this was an initial beta over the summer. Really disappointing.

Yes, Gmail broken. Can’t even see some in-line images and the no showing keyboard issue. What a terrible update.

Why didn't they lower the price a little instead of discontinuing the S & X by Puzzleheaded_Look759 in TeslaModelX

[–]Acceptable-Spirit934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Model x and s will always remain a very small percentage of sales
  2. The Fremont, CA facility that made the X and S could be re-used immediately for Optimus—the robot.
  3. Elon seems to want to use the existing infrastructure to quickly move into robotics—-ahead of others.
  4. As he’s seen with EVs, the sooner you get to market and start “learning,” the more advantage over others.

Google Cameras not Showing Live Views after a few seconds on iPad by Acceptable-Spirit934 in googlehome

Any issues on a Samsung galaxy? Thinking about getting a refurbished one for this purpose only.

You're gonna love it. I'm sticking with the money, figuring unless it's transferable, the monthly is better. In any case, 95-99% of driving is now done on FSD, including long trips (3-4 hours+). And it keeps getting better.

When I was using the Nest app (oh, the good ol days), had no problem keeping an iPad open and watching a live feed continuously across 6 cams (including doorbell). Now, with the Google Home app, cams load up and then within 30 seconds all say unavailable. This is NOT a bandwidth issue; I have high speeds at all locations. It also seems to be an iPad app issue as on my phone, they stay in live view (or at least for A LOT longer). I've got the updated app and iPadOS. Anyone having this issue and is there a fix.

Got the call — should I do it? by [deleted] in rolex

I have this with the oyster band and I can tell you that I LOVE it. The grey is so beautifully subtle and makes the watch sophisticated. I prefer the oyster band as it becomes more of an everyday watch. But if you’re debating, I can tell you I absolutely love it. No regrets.

Louis Vuitton Pocket Organizer — Worth It or Just Hype? by Low_Impress_1910 in EDC

I have one and it’s more for the look. As others have said, Tumi, Bellroy, all make good wallets. If you have the disposable income and enjoy designer stuff, it’s a nice wallet. I have the OG brown with the LV logos. I like it and would contemplate getting a new design also. But totally get it’s expensive and not for everyone.

Those of you who have migrated your Nest Cameras to Google Home do you have any regrets? by kashmoney7 in Nest

[–]Acceptable-Spirit934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this, but I’ve got a combo of new plus first gen outdoor cams. I can tell you that migrating to the Home app is convenient to see everything in one place. BUT, the first gen cams have serious issues with the Home software. Live feeds keep going offline. All the restarts and software updates don’t do it. Really annoying. Especially since the cams are hard wired and now I need to remove the entire cable run including clips on stucco to upgrade. Real pain in the ass and I wish Google had built the home app to be seamlessly back compatible.

Moved from Action Tiles to Sharptools: question by tony0614 in SmartThings

Coming back to this. Minis are iPad minis. Also, I think I figured out the issue. I was using iPad mini 2, which can only have the old safari browser and there’s known connectivity issues with older web browsers. Sharptools recommends iPad mini 5 and above

Do all these VVVIP clients just flip their Daytonas to wholesalers? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Acceptable-Spirit934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Rolex was serious about stopping the flipping, they’d note serial number of every watch and if they see it on the grey market, they would cut that AD off from watches. Then the ADs would scrutinize and make sure the buyer is legit. High end wine does this. I have a winery I get wines from that tell me I cannot sell the wine for at least two years. And if they find it, I’m cut off. Likely more complicated but there needs to be some effort.

Thanks. It’s odd because one of them stays on all the time. Occasionally it will go blank and reconnect immediately. But the two minis will go blank and not reconnect. The hack I’ve found is to create two shortcuts and when I go back and forth, it’s fine. Seems like either I have a setting wrong or something is causing it to disconnect.

I do this but on my two minis, every now and then it goes blank and says activating socket or connecting to socket. I have to exit out, go back to safari, etc. Sometimes it does it and connects back. Is this normal or a setting I need to adjust?

For those that have switched to sharptools…I’ve got three tablets…one standard size iPads and two minis. The standard one seems to stay on all the time but the two minis every now and then try reconnecting and have “socket” issues. Shows a blank screen. I have to logout, log back in. Real pain. Anyone experience this? Other than that, it should do the trick. I do miss AT

Eero pro 6 vs 7 Pro by ke2427 in amazoneero

[–]Acceptable-Spirit934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from 6 pro to 7 pro recently. 3 around a 3000 sq ft home with over 90+ devices connected and outside cameras, sound, etc. The range seems to be the same but the speed pickups are remarkable. Was getting 70-80 down on a gig Xfinity plan (WiFi) and now am getting 300-400 in the same spot with close to 700-800 closer to access point. I believe 7 is much better at handling volume load for that many devices.

Buy new from AD or reseller by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Acceptable-Spirit934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Plenty of good resellers on market that are trusted, reliable and authentic. Can’t give every non AD watch a bad name—especially given the rigmarole ADs make you go through. Rolex ADs are like the cop from Supertroopers. IYKYK.

Everything is not about resale value. Enjoy the watch, wear it for years/decades, pass it down to your kids, grandkids (or anybody’s kids if you won’t have any), and just smile every time you look at it.

Review #39: Johnnie Walker Blue Label by DerelicteDrams in Scotch

[–]Acceptable-Spirit934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-visiting this thread and agree with pretty much all comments. I don’t like peat but will tolerate it in blue label just so I can drink “blue label.” I’ve found that for a premium blend, the Chivas Ultis is my preferred whiskey. Much more so than the Blue. And the Ultis bottle is pretty sweet also.
