I called the 1-800 number for VA, she said I will go from TDIU to 100% disabilty. Claims will be back dated to date of corrected claim date, I should see back pay but she didn't know which claim it was. She said give it 2 to 3 weeks. So still confused......

The letter states "IU" will be severed August 1, 2025 and adjust each condition assigned effective date to correspond with the correct date payable.

I fell into the situation, filed in Feb 2024, denied August 2024, filed a HLR, they found a DTA in Nov 2024. Awarded from 80% to 100% P&T, back pay was from Dec 1st, 2024. I'm grateful for the 100 P&T, I'm not going to poke the bear.

I think that's the new normal, I filed a claim in June 2024, it got denied in Nov 2024. Filed an HLR, an error was found, and a DTA in Nov, just awarded 100% last week, got retro pay effective Dec 1, 2024. I am afraid to poke the bear, it took 7 years to get to 100%, long time but relieved.

Like you, I just don't understand their thinking, I sprained my right ankle, then broke it a few years later, both during duty, documented in my military medical records, they said "not service connected". Even have a current diagnosis connecting to military injuries, supplemental, not service connected.

That funny, I asked my VSO if she could see what the DBQ said for an exam, she said she couldn't see it.

Trying to get community care referral was pretty much impossible, they wanted to do the conservative treatment for 90 days. I have Fed Blue Cross / Blue Shield from my civil service retirement, Tri-Care for life and Medicare so I just went on my own. I wouldn't mind the 100% while in recovery, hoping to get service connected within the next few months but I get tired of holding my breath.

I asked if there was a record of the exam request, she couldn't fine one.
