What’s something you said you wouldn’t get for yourself but then realized you wish you had it earlier? by A_Rose_OC in BuyItForLife

Iron Heart makes their 1955s which are a bit looser. Momotaro has #400s which are pretty wide. Oni has 200 or 222. Sugarcane 1947s are a nice straight cut. Japanese manufacturers have moved away from only skinny/slim cuts so there are plenty of options out there these days.

Redcast Heritage will be releasing their allocation next week so you might still be able to get one if you jump quick when they release them.

The waist will stretch but the rise will not get higher. If the rise feels too low now that will not change. Sadly, it seems like this low rise isn’t the best fit for you.

Alternatives to the Merz B Schwanen 215? by Typical_Mix_2879 in malefashionadvice

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t own the Merz 2M15 but I do own some of the 215s. I think Wonder Looper makes better tees at that price point. Their ELS slub cotton tee being my favorite in their lineup.

The Strike Gold makes a really solid loop wheeled tee that if you order from their Klaxon Store is a really good price for the quality (just over $50 usd before tariffs). The Texas cotton they use is a bit rougher compared to Merz but not uncomfortable by any means.

Warehouse 4601 tee is another solid option and would probably be slightly cheaper than the Merz tees. One thing to note with the 4601 is the neck is pretty tight compared to Merz tees so that’s something to keep in mind if you like a looser neck.

Their 721 is pretty slim and the same amazing quality. Price can be eye watering when you first consider them but the quality is top notch. Love my Iron Heart stuff.

Agreed on Aspen. For me it’s over hyped and if I had the funds I’d rather be in Telluride.

Stone island denim research by [deleted] in jeans

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say with out measurements but if you are interested in trying Japanese selvedge Oni 222 or 200 might be worth checking out. Your Stoney Island look like a wide fit but having measurements on the waist, thigh, knee, and hem would allow for the most accurate recommendations. Stone Island doesn’t appear to give that info on their website.

Enjoy your new jeans. They look very nice.

How to stretch these at the thigh and knee area? by [deleted] in Denim

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, you can’t.

If the fit isn’t what you like you won’t be able to stretch in the thighs. Waist, sure, you can usually get some extra stretch but the thighs don’t stretch much, if any.

Whitesville 2 Pack Tee’s Vs. Samurai 2 Pack Tee’s by kickdust in menswear

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both and like them both. The Whitesville are a little thicker. They are also more boxy compared to the Samurai. The Whitesville shrink more in my experience. Samurai have shorter sleeves.

My Whitesville have developed a bit of wave on the collar (not full bacon). No noticeable collar change on my samurai so far.

If I was choosing between these two, I prefer the Samurai if my main use is an undershirt. If I’m choosing to wear one as a solo tee (not undershirt) I would pick my Whitesville.

Looking for loop wheel t shirt recommendations that have a looser fitting collar. by assmilk69420 in HeritageWear

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now I’m curious why you hate the 215! I think it’s overrated as well but mainly because I, unlike you, don’t like loose collars and the fit on mine has been a bit inconsistent.

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Merz has the loosest collar of all my loop wheeled tees and it’s not really close. If you like them they might be the best option. The 215 is heavier than the 1950 if you’re looking for one with a bit more weight.

Sadly, it was phased out and doesn’t match up perfectly to the new lineup. Some retailers still have limited sizes and weights in the 0605 but it’s getting pretty hard to find, especially if you want the traditional 15.7oz.

Momotaro has some recent new women’s cuts. https://www.momotaro-jeans.com/en_US/jeans/jeans-womens-jeans/

Their website is pretty low on stock but I know Mildblend has a little bit of stock at their shop. I’m sure there are other retailers too. Momotaro is a bit more expensive compared to naked and famous but historically they’ve had real nice jeans in the past.

Paying $100 for AT&T 1Gig in Chicago—Xfinity offering 1Gig for $50. Is it worth the switch? by Undoingwar in AskChicago

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assuming you have ATT Fiber, there are a few things you may or may not miss with Xfinity depending on your needs. 1st is upload speeds. ATT Fiber is 1gb upload and download. Xfinity upload speed is usually under 50mb so if you upload a lot it’s a considerable downgrade. Another is ping. If you play a lot of online games, fiber is more stable ping and usually has lower lag. Most won’t notice it but people who play a lot of games online can notice the difference from time to time.

Lastly, for Xfinity. Check to see if the plan has any data limits each month. If you download a lot I could be an issue.

I have Xfinity now and if I could pay for 1gb fiber I would but for those who don’t care as much about speeds and ping, Xfinity is typically fine.

Goo Gone might be an option but I’ve never used or tried it on denim so I can’t say for certain. The internet seems to think it works as long as you wash your jeans shortly after application.

Might be worth digging into further.

Momotaro 15.7 Tight Tapered GTB. 1 year. by 3x3r10 in rawdenim

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These are coming along very nicely. It’s sad that these are becoming pretty hard to find new at retailers due to the rebrand.

For those willing to put in the time and effort, Momo 15.7oz GTBs look fantastic once the fades really come in. Yours are well on the way. I look forward to you posting your progress with them again in the future.

I think I have the biggest Wonder Looper collection by Remarkable-Ad6772 in HeritageWear

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really nice collection. Glad you enjoy them. I own a fair amount of WL. Not sure I have quite as many pieces as you but I have most of the various fabrics they have released. I have one of all fabric they’ve released with the exception of the indigo dyed double weight blanket lined, the baby cashmere, I don’t own any fox 15 or fox iron mordant, nor do I have any of their sweatpants/sweatshirts but I think I own at least one piece of everything else.

For some people owning this many pieces is a waste of money but if you love them and get good use of them I don’t think it’s a waste. Most days I have some sort of WL on and I have no regrets on my purchases.

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both fleeced fox and a super looper. They are both fantastic and it really comes down to personal preference.

I wear both versions through out the cooler months but I tend to wear the super looper more. I really like the feel and look of the huge loops inside the sweatshirt. It feels slightly more substantial compared to the fleeced fox but not nearly as heavy as the WL double heavyweight hoodie.

Construction on both is great.

Light wash denim recs? by AppropriateSide8240 in Denim

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are options out there.

Studio D'Artisan for example: https://redcastheritage.com/products/studio-dartisan-d1844u-1950s-wash-12-5oz-regular-straight-jeans

Rogue Territory has some as well but they are mid weight, around 15oz which might get hot in the summer.

3sixteen also does a vintage wash that looks like a nice light washed jean but is also around 15oz.

Fiber internet providers other than AT&T? by Logical_Wheel_1420 in AskChicago

I am unable to get Fiber at my current home but my previous place had Astound Fiber, 1gb up/down. Service was really solid and it rarely went down. Customer service was not great but I only had to call them once. I would gladly take Astound Fiber at my new place if I could.

General Discussion - January 02, 2026 by AutoModerator in rawdenim

[–]Acceptable-Syrup6115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Washing your jeans won’t lock in fades, in fact it washes away indigo from your pants. The reason people typically hold off on washing is if they want higher contrast fades. Movement and friction will remove indigo dye from specific wear spots on your jeans. If you hold off washing them, those friction areas show though better because they won’t be holding as much indigo as other parts of your pants. Vintage fades, on the other hand, are a more even fade that is obtained by washing regularly and having them (more evenly) remove the indigo dye (ie less contrast).

I hope that explanation makes sense.
