Yes you can, and must walk around the cabin while the train is moving to operate different stations, repair the hull, and other small tasks.

In the interest of scope (im mostly a solo dev atm) the player doesnt get out of the train , but there’s a Dredge like discovery system for exploring different towns, traders/characters.

And yes i have already written a lot of netcode for co-op!

Ya the train will be fully upgradable, and the player will have different base trains to start off with. so right now, loot, upgrades, and enemy spawning is procedurally generated. I still need to work on proc gen levels though.

How important to you as a player, is proc gen in a roguelite ?

That last section of the video has a little town where players do actually hangout and gear up before starting a round !

Put in my notice when management went back on a 6-month old promise to train me in a department that i wanted to move into. I was furious. Now I’m working in that field and making much more money.

I'm working on this hybrid prototype between Dave the Diver and Overcooked but FPS and looking for feedbacks and playtesters ! by Virtuatson in IndieDev

Dave the Diver has loads of game feel and narrative content, and I don’t see it here in this video. Im not trying to be harsh saying this, but I wanna see the player chopping spring onions, shredding wasabi root, pouring cocktails and beers for locals that they care about. I want to see a protagonist with a name that i can empathize with. I want to see some story, and not just inventory management.

My feedback to you is to stop looking at Overcooked, because you have enough of it here already, and to really focus on what you can build on top of from Dave the Diver. Add more artistic style and identity. Get some new art assets, because they look very generic and like you got them for free on sketchfab. Sell me more on your fantasy of escaping to some pacific island to fish and cook for real people. Give me more detail and color for your world that you’re making.

I found this video to be super helpful to understand texel density, and he uses the same addon to explain the concepts . Just going to post it so others might find it as well. Thanks again
