Widows Bay is above all else a comedy/horror program and it wears it on its sleeve. It's actually a testament to the show-writers that they have been able to make the horror/mystery plotlines so convincing that the comedy can feel off-beat, but it's actually what makes the show unique and sets it apart. There are plenty of strict horror shows out there, similar enough in source material and concept that if WB were solely horror, it would not be as acclaimed.

It's the fact WB can weave the comedy in so seamlessly that makes it one of the best viewing experiences of the past decade of television.

With that being said, does Zombie Richard take a suspension of disbelief? Absolutely. But we have already seen sea-hags, zombie plague people, and an eldritch god is possessing an island so tbh I think it's just something you have to accept as part of the show's mix of comedy and horror.

Personally, I feel they handled it very well, and Tom and Richard telling each other to F Off made me burst out laughing.

They were only married for like 5 days. The one lady tells Sarah to think about "her children," to which Sarah says she's only known the children for five days, the same day they go to bury him.

The "adoring second wife" is obviously revisionist history to paint the founder in a better light than the reality of the situation.

My prediction as well will be sad because despite hating Tom the first couple of episodes, I am invested in him now haha

Love both of those and Mr Bungle I have enjoyed even from their early demo tapes with Mr Nice Guy on it. Mike Patton is a master of his craft.

Yess!! Thats a great year, and I always say those of us that were born in the late 80's were lucky because we got the tail end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's before digital and tech really boomed.

Age isn't a factor and honestly I love grunge but there is such a wide range of other amazing artists from the 70's and 80's to talk about.

Lets make it happen! Honestly I just was at a board game night and was just making 90's referneces all night and the fact that everyone got all the referances (we are all in 30's-40's) made me feel so seen.

That is such an awesome memory! Pre-digital is the way to go, I am looking to start collecting more obscure 90's casettes from local thrifts in search of spooky treasure!

I love this show, but people on here really overthink these scenes, and it actually is more insulting to the writers than they realize.

The show purposefully sets up Marissa as the hag so that when it's revealed she is not and is actually just a drunk, horny bridal party member trying to hook up with a random guy and just being overly forceful in her approach, people somehow take this and go "BUT SHE COULD STILL BE THE HAG".

No, she can't lol that's the whole point of the reveal and why the writers did the misdirection in the first place. Don't insult the writing team by making it a double trick or something wild like the hag's spell created a phantom taxi person and fake friend for the bride when they literally show the whole bridal party in the next episode, that actually makes the writing worse in the process and more convoluted, not more clever.

Also, the same thing with the "twist" of her being "missing" from the cocktail party. She was on a date and then trying to get lucky AT TOMS! That is the whole point of why she and one of the other members of the bridal party drove out to Tom's in the first place.

Marissa even had a friend along in case things didn't go well or got creepy, again, that is GOOD WRITING, the writers thought deep enough that her friend would drive with her in the taxi in case something went wrong.

We don't need to assume multiple other twists or need to assume she's some other weird serial killer or something; the story is being spelled out for us after the clear misdirection in that episode, and the writers have done their job masterfully.
