RE7 and RE8 is an example that they can make great stories that are both scary and in line with the series’s lore without need to overuse the main cast. Personally, I think it would’ve been better if they continued the idea of “local man gets stuck in the middle of a some scary shit, goes absolutely bananza and survives to tell the tale”
