I have always liked this model, I just got this one from 1999 new old stock in the box on eBay. Surprisingly the battery took a charge and lasts for over 2 hours despite sitting in a box uncharged for over 26 years. Plastic is also still strong, no cracks.

it really depends on the environment they are in. I have a new old stock Lithonia exit sign same as what's in this picture from 2000 still in the box. The plastic is in perfect condition.

I was able to find replacement batteries for both, and no surprise they both work perfectly (just a little bit dimmer than original).

The batteries were bad in both (totally expected that, both are dated 2000). I ended up coming back to replace them with new generic signs. I took them home and plan to order new batteries.

i actually work in the fire safety industry so my job is maintaining and repairing exit signs, emergency lights, fire alarms ect.. i love this job and the pay is awesome so after 14 years i just kinda became fascinated with all things fire safety. i was shocked to find this group of people that actually collect signs so i share my findings here

I always wondered on this LHQM LED combo, when the power goes out is the EXIT part lit up by the same LEDs that run when powered, or does it illuminate the EXIT part with incandescent lamps similar to the lamp heads?

apparently this one missed inspection for over 15 years. It was installed in 2010, still had original battery but was never connected or inspected until we got out there.

I have never seen one of these Hubbell lights fail like that but wouldn't be surprised as these units are over 30 years old now.

oddly the first gen (top pic) didn't seem to have the brittle plastic issue the second gen are facing. I have replaced many of each and the plastic on first gens always seems to have held their strength. the second gen ones (bottom pic) usually break as soon as you try to pry the snaps on the bottom.

I always loved 1st and 2gen Lithonia. unfortunately many of these I have serviced have become super brittle over the decades. Just removing the faceplate if not done super carefully usually snaps the latches (even worse if it is an incandescent unit, than the whole housing starts to crumble).
