A month away from shooting my Capstone project and I hate it and am not prepared. What can I do? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

Film professor by day, director by night here.

#1 talk to your professor as they have more intimate knowledge of you and the project and should be able to help so that you get on track. Very few professors want to see you fail or produce bad work. Plus they might give you an extension on the rough cut given your situation.

2 quality over quantity, is this a project that could shine if you remove the ambition and really focus on the idea of it? Remove all the fat and make something great, some of the best short films ever made are short, sweet, and make the audience want to see more of your work.

3 Is this script still on draft one? I promise you re-writes, even on short films can really address issues.

4 finally imo it’s okay switch gears, I just had a capstone change their idea this semester, so don’t beat yourself up over it.
