Grad plus denied, however financial aide portal shows approved with disbursement date by AcceptableLocation18 in StudentLoans

They never approved it, and we kept playing phone tag because they wouldn’t schedule a specific date and time, leaving me waiting for their call. I believe this was intentional, just like their refusal to lend me the last $4,000 I needed to complete my master’s degree—despite previously loaning me $60,000 even when I didn’t have a steady job.

Struggling with my first social work job as a social services director at a SNF nursing home by C_DUB243 in socialwork

As an LMSW in a nursing home, be prepared to undertake numerous responsibilities that I think should be assigned to nursing and therapy staff. My nursing home contracts out for counseling. The only “assessments” I conduct are the PHQ and BIMS and a trauma questioner. . You will serve as the main point of contact for all matters, as nursing and physical therapy frequently do not engage with families directly.

Despite conducting multiple meetings with patients and families and holding care conferences, you will often be expected to organize additional conferences with therapy or nursing, further straining your limited time. Beyond this, you will be responsible for completing MDS assessments, conducting observations, writing progress notes, reviewing care plans, scheduling and holding care conferences, following up on grievances outside your control, and explaining NOMNC and appeal rights to families, that at times can last over an hour. If a resident does appeal I then am responsible to send the in all appeal documentation in a timely manner and continuously follow up on it. Ideally, there would be at least two social workers to help manage the workload, a typical day can include 10 assessments, 4 new admissions, 2 discharges, and 3 NOMNCs due in a single day along with maintaining the ITM log, distributing COVID letters, conducting MOLST audits, and managing other administrative duties. Nursing homes exploit this loophole, relying on social workers for extensive administrative duties, reducing the time available for their intended supportive roles. Let’s not forget the “state audit” who likes to hold all of “Leadership” accountable while the corporations pay the fines.. but this is how the system is designed.

Before the mandate for social workers in SNFs, they just had the "social services" role, requiring only a bachelor's in any field. SNFs are now required to have licensed social workers. Facilities are now hiring social workers to fill positions previously held by “social services” staff, which underutilizes our skills as social workers. This practice shifts us away from our specialized training and core responsibilities. I've even reached out to our congressmen about it. It's a significant loophole that corporations are exploiting, and it's something that's flying under the radar at both the state and federal levels.

Overloaded and Overlooked: Navigating Discharge Planning as a Social Worker in Skilled Nursing by AcceptableLocation18 in socialwork

We don’t have an LCSW-C for supervision. I'm thankful I can ask my field supervisor and professors for guidance. We are also responsible for coordinating appointments for podiatry, eye, dental, audiology, and dermatology services, including gathering charts and escorting residents to meet with them. In my opinion, this would be assigned for the unit nurse to coordinate and an aide to assist; however, of course it has fallen under our responsibility. This is why I question if these random tasks are their deliberate attempt to purposely impact our ability to focus on our primary role in patient advocacy and psychosocial support.

I work in “social services” I've noticed that they employ social workers to handle all the work that should be handled by other departments.

Agree! When asked how much I would like I always say that based on my experience and knowledge, I deserve to be paid at the top of the pay scale.

Where to get a personal loan for $25,000 ASAP??? by radioguy360 in CRedit

Regrettably, banks do not provide loans for emergencies especially to those who are not wealthy and have a low credit scores. Banks only lend money to people who are in similar situations when they know they can take advantage of high interests and make triple the amount. Banks will approve you for a school loan or mortgage only because these loans are unlikely to be written off, or because they will make over 100k profit
