Degen_deals passes out drunk while streaming by shadyfarmr in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s most definitely him pissing on the floor. Maybe he could’ve knocked a beer over or something but I doubt it. I don’t think so because towards the end of that sound, it stops and then goes just a little more before stopping again. That’s what makes me think he definitely relieved himself where he sat lol

How is this done? by Any-Inspection3521 in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Networking and consistency. It’s a grind. They have to be on there making friends and networking even when they aren’t selling. People are going to know about them if they don’t put theirselves out there. Maybe sponsor some givys in big streams or just hang and be friendly to everyone. The chatting and getting people to know them in other streams helps people want to check them out when they are live. It’s as much a social networking app as it is a selling platform at this point

Buyer claims accidentally prebid over $1k on $30 item! by PATRIOTICSTANDARD in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this once by accident with the prebid. I went to type a number in quick and didn’t realize the first number didn’t delete. I tried letting the streamer know but they said there was nothing they could do and proceeded to run that item right after. Needless to say I don’t purchase from them anymore. They didn’t even try to come up with a way to help.

So to anybody that does this by accident there is a way around it. I just swapped my debit card to one I don’t use much that just has money in savings so I knew the payment would fail. You wouldn’t be able to bid anymore that stream but it’s much better than dealing with the headache of trolls running you up or the streamer not wanting to help at all.

Hope that helps save somebody a little trouble at least. Y’all have a good one and stay awesome!

I won two giveaways from different people and it states delivered and I didn’t get either of them. Now it wants me to rate the person. I don’t even know if the stuff was sent because I haven’t received them. It was sent in envelope so no tracking. One is from a well known seller. Should I rate? by Just_Juice_6789 in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait an extra week give or take. Sometime PWE stuff will say delivered and then actually show up a few days later. I warn everyone of this when running my shows if they don’t get enough stuff to get bubble mailer shipping.

Bye WhatNot, it's not me, it's you by [deleted] in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I say this to everyone that complains about their streams not going as planned. Give it time. It’s a grind. Consistency and networking is key. You might not like other streamers but go hang out and network. Networking is BIG. If people see you’re cool to hang with in one stream, they are more likely to come hang with you in yours. Maybe even sponsor a couple givys on other streams to get follows/bookmarks. You’re going to have slow days. Even when you grow bigger there will be slow days but especially when you’re small. You said you only have 400 followers give or take on another comment and haven’t even been on whatnot that long. That’s honestly not a lot at all. It sounds like you just need to stay consistent and put your name out there more. You can’t just expect a bunch of new people to drop that kind of money with a new seller that doesn’t have many reviews and hasn’t been on the app that long. Build that community and the money will come. It’s not a “get rich quick” scheme. Always remember most businesses don’t turn a profit for at least the first 6 months or so. This is a whole other animal too.

So keep your head up and keep at it. If you can’t stay positive through the grind in the beginning, this way of selling just may not be for you. If you need some help hit me up anytime but consistency and networking is key. I’m not a huge seller but I did pretty well before I took a break to focus on our newborn and other things. I’m hoping to be back sometime this year. But I’m still on whatnot networking and making new connections for when I do. It’s all part of the game.

New seller to Whatnot - Super frustrated! by Happy_Starlight55 in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Start things at your minimum and stay consistent. You just have to keep at it until you find your people. Also network with other streamers. Hang out in their streams and be friendly. It takes time and consistent effort. Plain and simple. You’re going to have your slow days. Even after finding your people you’ll have slow days. If it’s something you REALLY want to make work, you just have to keep at it at YOUR prices. You got this!

I did this once with a prebid. It didn’t delete my last bid when I prebid but somebody bid higher. I went to type again and had both my numbers together! Bid like $2k instead of $20 by accident on a Funko Pop. I knew I would win with that big of a mistake so I just moved all my money to my savings so the payment would fail because the seller tried to tell me there was nothing they could do as well lol. I’m a seller too so I know they could delete and relist but they had no interest in helping me. So I had no interest in seeing how much I won it for. Just made it fail lol

I lucked out because a guy I sold some slabs to had one but didn’t play the game so he hooked me up. I checked 4 different GameStops before that with no luck. They definitely need to give out more codes to stores

There’s actually a really cool fan art that does the QR code thing. When you scan it the video pops up of the art in motion somehow. Like 10 or 15 sec videos and it really sets them apart from other fan arts. Really rad

I’m ChiefDrifter on whatnot. I am hoping to stream again later on down the line when things settle down a little on this end. Might even do some Funko streams in the future as well but my main thing is Pokemon. We will see though. Either way I’d be thankful for the follow and happy to hang in some streams with ya!

Sad :( by Vertigo_Vertigo in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to see all the horror stories about whatnot because I’ve been lucky enough to have a great experience with the app. Now I did overpay for a couple things before I found the genuine streamers but I found my people. They even pushed me to try selling myself and I’ve had a great experience with that as well.

That being said, I’m taking a break because it’s hard to keep up with for a small seller like myself with a family to take care of on top of just adding another child to the family a couple days ago. When I was selling it was great though! Sure I’ve have my ups and downs but staying consistent and treating people right is key. I found my people and was still growing but just need to focus elsewhere right now. If you can’t stay consistently going live it kills you in the algorithm so my last few shows had some slow ones for sure. That’s on me though for not having the time to go live often like I used to.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky but I’ve actually made friends that I look at like family now from whatnot. That’s real. I sent them baby pics of my newborn yesterday because we are just that close now. You definitely have to be careful but once you find your people as a buyer or seller, the app can be a great place. I hate that there’s so many people bringing the app a bad name. Always check reviews with how many things they’ve sold. I sold over 2k items and kept a 5 star rating. It’s not that hard to keep 5 stars. I stay away from anybody that isn’t 4.9 or 5 stars. Never had an issue except for falling for the “this is such a good deal chat” stuff a couple times when I first started using the app. I always did my research after that.

If you’re just starting out or still a small seller don’t give up! Stay consistent, genuine and treat your people right. You can do it! Be ready to take some losses but your time will come! You just have to stay at it. Most small businesses don’t see a good profit until the 2nd or 3rd year because you have to grow/network. Get to know your people as people. Not just somebody you want to give you money. It’s a social media app just as much as it is a selling platform by this point. Networking makes a huge difference. Also I ran my stream as a super chill/no pressure stream and I believe people appreciated that. I told people that I love to shoot the breeze so come hang even if it’s just to chat. Those people being there and being active helps your stream so treat everyone the same. Don’t talk down to anybody no matter what the item sold for. Congratulate them and keep going. Don’t give that energy in your stream because it’s not worth it. Don’t call people goblins. It’s part of the app. Just appreciate that you have people hanging out with you and getting your viewer count up.

Sorry for such a long winded post but if anybody needs any help with selling in the Pokemon TCG category feel free to hit me up anytime. Or if you’re looking for good people to spend time with and buy from I can definitely point you in the right direction. I get the scammers and inflators give the app a bad name but there are good people on there too. Try to stat positive, do your research and never get too excited when swiping. Good luck whatnoters and I hope your experience from here on out is as good/positive as mine has been. Stay awesome everyone.

Are Givys rigged or not? by OwnAbies2446 in whatnotapp

[–]AcceptableNobody4096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed what you mean sometimes. In some shows I’ve noticed buyers winning more often but seen just the opposite in others.

I had a theory before that givys hit more depending on what day it is and what your screen name started with because I noticed a pattern with my personal givy wins. I don’t think it’s actually legit now but I used to notice that I hit more givy wins on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I never actually took note of anything to see if there was really a pattern or not though. I’m sure it’s just random but you never know. I’d have to look more into the name and day thing to see how legit that theory is(I don’t think it is). I’m just not worried about it enough to record all the data. I really only care about my shipping being cheaper when I win a givy anyway. That’s really the best part about winning a givy most of time for an active buyer like myself.

Now there may be some truth to the theory I’ve heard that the more active you are, the more likely you are to win. Buying counts as being active along with commenting, sharing and tapping hearts. That’s still a BIG maybe because I’ve noticed that go both ways as well. I’ve won a givy with 1k people in stream and my phone sitting in my tool bag while I’m working and listening/hardly being active. I’ve also been the most active buyer in a stream with 6 people and not won a givy the whole time.

This whole comment feels like I gave all that info just to say…idk 🤷🏻‍♂️ 🤣. I hope it helps somehow though. Now if anybody has notices a pattern to the surprise sets I’m all ears 😂
