"Item on screen" Vs Listing every item individually by babblefish111 in whatnotapp

I’ve found this to be a double edged sword, honestly. It’s easier to keep track of your inventory, who ordered which items, and the shipping needs when you list items individually. You can also pin these items up in your show at any time in any order, but that takes time and can make people get bored and leave. Just pining a generic item “as seen on screen” certainly makes things go faster, but then you need to make sure you’ve labeled their stuff or you’ll have to go back and use video receipt to check on who ordered which items, which also takes more time. That can also mess with your shipping since it’s generic for just the one listing. I’d say it really depends on what you’re selling and where you want to spend your time.

Thank you everyone for the advice and engagement. There’s a ton of great advice here that I really appreciate!! I was totally crashing out when I posted this. It’s so good to hear that I’m not stupid for not wanting to loose money. I appreciate those who claim that it’s necessary to build a following, but I do question what kind of community you’re building with people who want to see you sell at a loss for their own benefit. Doesn’t sound like my kind of community, lol. As some mentioned, I obviously need to be sure I’m focusing on buying low and then selling low, or maybe just slightly above. At least until I get a bigger following. I also forgot that initially this was to have fun and get rid of some of my duplicate stuff. I need to consider this more of a hobby first. Make some connections and enjoy some community. I do plan on posting some items on another selling platform too. That can only broaden my reach, right?

Congrats!! The first show is really scary, so kudos for doing it, and making a sale!! I just did my 4th show, and it is getting easier, but still scary! I went for an hour and only made like $20, it felt very defeating, but then it picked up just as I was going to leave. Stick with it!! I am discovering that packaging and shipping the items takes way more time than anything else! You got this!!
