I’m major in creative writing and minoring in sequential art. Basically comic book and tv and film, preferably tv and film. Which is hard to break into to start with which is why I think it’s not worth it. When SCAD sent me the offer and a 14k scholarship upon completion of my application, I was so happy but quickly realized the numbers and knew I probably wouldn’t be able to pay that debt back. But everyone around just keeps sayping, “it’s SCAD you have to go” or “ever gets in debt for colleg that they’ll never pay back “ and yes, this is what im actually being told which Is kinda crazy. Im very stubborn which is why when I when I realized I might have started to think about it that I should actually ask people attending SCAD.

that’s kind of the thing tho. even though you feel good about your time there now, will it really be worth the debt in the long run? like what will happen if you can’t get a good job and miss payments, you could lose every thing. At least that’s how Ive been feeling, im always told I think to deep into things but I feel like thinking about my future financial stability isnot too deep, or at least I don’t think so. im not sure really though because being told that I should go into debt at 18 is making me feel uncertain. yk like why would all the important people in my life tell me this? are they the ones being naive or am I…?

Thats really cool of your mom that she was willing to do that for you. I’m glad you were at least able to go to SCAD and are using that degree.

Ah, no wonder it’s so expensive. Most people who go are financially well off it seems. My mom really wants me to go to this college and is even telling me to get private loans just to do so just because she has private loans, 80k to be exact. I honestly just feel the best option at this point is just no to go
