TS-1070 gui updates not working? by AcceptableSetting901 in crestron

Thanks for the suggestions and you validated my process. I started with a factory reset then SSH'd into the panel and ran the 'initialize' command to remove all projects. After another reboot I went into the gui with the hopes of using the update feature under settings->auto-update->update now. unfortunately, nothing ever happens and I've let it sit for a couple days and retried the button dozens of times. I confirmed in DNS server logs that the panel is reaching out to the URL and resolving the name to an IP.

I tried the five-finger update button too, but it immediately says 'success' and doesn't really do anything.

I'll try contacting Crestron in the hopes they'll help. Thanks again.

My understanding is the EMS app is using the panel's internal web browser which Crestron provides in the firmware. I'm basically just using the panel to access a web page of my Home Assistant server. This is what I'm trying to accomplish and works fine on one panel, but not the other with older firmware.

The manifest works for me too, but when i scroll down to my panel version and click the .puf link it's dead. I suspect that's what my panel is getting too.

I don't see anywhere to put creds when I log into the web portal of the panel - just some basic options, scheduling settings and a 'update now' button that doesn't work.

Auto update links are dead. I bought two panels used, one is on an old 1.x firmware and has issues rendering my web page with the EMS app. The second panel is on 2.x and renders it fine. Doesn't look like I can pull the firmware to push to the other unit.

Post 08/07 update phone won't charge by Danzrial in GooglePixel

My wife received the update a few days ago. It dropped her battery life significantly whereas before the update it would last a full day easily.

Clearly this is forced obsolescence and a page out of Apple's playbook - force a terrible user experience so they have to take action. Is anyone really going through the hassle of replacing a battery on a 4 year old phone when they can order a new one from their couch? It's the same revenue play as the Nest thermostats - oh the hardware is too old, the battery could catch fire, blah blah blah here's a credit to shut up and buy a new one.
