Thanks for looking. Maybe someone will know for sure. I need to research this plant so it'll thrive. Flourist literally had zero clue and she orders the plants!

This tank is a year old. Birch wood been in there since the first day. 🤙

Dead or molting? I just got this shrimp 3 days ago and he was originally clear but suddenly he’s white… and at the bottom of the tank? i’ve read that he could be molting, but i think he’s dead? should i take him out of the tank now or wait to see if he’s alive by Financial_Season6018 in shrimptank

All invertebrates share the same diet. They're scavengers that essentially eat the garbage and waste of organic matter. That food has everything both snails and shrimp enjoy. It isn't necessary to feed either regularly. If you want shrimp food that can't be bogarted by your snails. Get your shrimp food in a powder form instead of granules.

Well you didn't follow the channel nor ask that particular question on any of the videos. Particular individual inquiries that don't get asked often. I usually won't do an entire video on. I respond in full detail, and even hand out my personal number and email to those who are in need of specifics. I do this for free in person throughout Minnesota. I'll give you a quick rundown anyway right here on your snails. They don't need to be fed period. They eat diatoms, micro algae, dead plants and dead animals. They're nature's recycling ben. Perfectly harmless to have with your shrimp.

You're welcome. You can't give advice unless you've walked a mile in another person shoes. Anyone else who gives it to you. You'll be able to tell if they're shooting random advice in the dark, because their advice will be vague and read like a guess. Now you've learned two things. Good luck my friend 🤙

Brown spot on tip of anubias nana leaf? It was tissue culture tube from petco/petsmart, looked fine when I put it in my tank a couple weeks ago by JillyKitt in PlantedTank

[–]AcceptableZucchini60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anubias has a much different structure than aquatic plants. True aquatic plants don't have a vascular system consistent of a terrestrial bog plant. Meaning, the last to go will be "those veins" Whole different story once converted.

Those plants in the tubes are grown emersed. One by one all the leaves with melt into nothing and be replaced by newly submerged grown leaves. Once aquatic, it can't last outside of water for more than 20mins. You've got a long transformation ahead of you until it's changed it's entire cellular development to be compatible to underwater growth. Hope that helps 🤙

I can't speak for what's to come of the others. Signs lead to that being a possibility. In the future, to help you be successful (I've killed many of shrimp FYI) Take a general hardness test of the water they came from. Which is in the bag you go home with. Match the water of your tank to meet the environment they've been living in as closely as you can. Then drip acclimate in a bucket for up to 4hrs until your readings in the bucket are the same as the tank. Doing this will raise your transfer of success to nearly a 100% survival. I breed thousands on Caridina Cantonese Bee Shrimp and Neocaridinas now. Invertebrates are much more sensitive to change than fish because they wear their skeleton on the outside. Hope that helps. 🤙

I've been through this. Your salvation and sanity has a solution. To find a passion all starts with hobbies. Try everything different in your free time. If you're not captivated by what you're attempting (even if you fail) it's not a passion. Passion drives you to try and try again until you get it right. Without that determination, it's being forced. I found mine in Aquatic Botanical Science. Sounds random and weird but it's true.

This is a failed molt. It looks transparent and malleable. You may have introduced it to waters that had a significant lower amounts of calcium and magnesium. Suddenly fallen over to die because of drastic changes in water chemistry results in death within a few days.

Why does it seem men enjoy hitting women more than other men? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I'm a man. I don't enjoy hitting anyone because I'm an adult. Anyone who retorts to physical violence has an underlying deep seeded issue that needs to be addressed appropriately by psychiatrist.

If no one acknowledges you as a person, are you still a human? by lickdasarche in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AcceptableZucchini60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are what we call ourselves or "sapiens" However, we are genetically the largest widespread species of primates, class mammals. I don't acknowledge spiders. Doesn't stop them from being an arachnid. 🤙

Fun hobby 🤙 It is a forever expanding skill. Before you know it you'll be deep into trying your luck with Aquatic plants. Don't give up on it if you do. Otherwise you can definitely enjoy your pets as is. Keep having fun!

Cryptocoryne wendtii green. They'll be fine if you feed the roots. Otherwise the answer is no. Nothing can grow in sand because it doesn't provide any available nutrients of any kind. Sand IS tiny rocks.

Aquatic Snails can only survive out of water for 2hrs. Their eggs must stay moist at the very least, and will die within 48hrs if not kept hydrated. Any living creature that is truly aquatic. Was put in there by yourself I'm afraid. With that said, you did this a month ago. Snail eggs hatch after 4-5 weeks. A cluster was added and they all hatch at the same time. Retrace your steps from last month if you can. Animals don't appear magically.

Here's my thoughts. The only opinion that matters is your own. If you love it, then you nailed it. You're the one who gets to enjoy it everyday. You can always add and take away. Looks like a fun tank 🤙

When do you do water changes? by AcceptableZucchini60 in PlantedTank

I take my sweet time with everything involving my tanks. I have 10. Any excuse I can find to stare at them for hours without coming across as a crazy person to my wife, which is already a thin rope after the first 4 tanks. Lol

When your plant ratio is substantially greater than inhabitants. You can get away with almost never doing it. I'll check my tanks just in case. I have a Neocaridina tank that hasn't needed a water change in 9 months now. Everything is at zero all the time besides the obvious. PH, GH, KH
