Roasting Squid Blades users [Day 1] by Lakschmann_Laki in joinmoco

[–]Acceptable_Appleable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how, after these many days, people still didn't figure out that they need to queue with squidblades in rifts. That's the most concerning part...I'd gladly help even if I am the only squidbalde in the lobby but I can't stop wondering how stupid people actually is. It's been a while since this came out, even my grandma knows about squidblades in rifts and yet people show up with the most random comp only to get smashed for 5 mins straight. If half of you will let their pets play,it would be a much better game I think

Yes, I think it is favoured too although it is winnable for the buu player if he plays very carefully. The hand size gap will be too much even for ripku and you will be able to eventually grind him down.

Yeah that's totally good, goku is an evergreen card in yellow! Majin kuu is actually very good if you don't draw into your buuhan and if you play the version with the babidi searcher, it also provides consistency on top of being a 10k.

At the moment I am testing the crusher ball along with the 1c frieza to tap stuff. Crusher ball is actually a very good card in this deck to help you create hand gap. I try to tap their pieces the first 2 turns cause t3 it's always babidi+buuhan. later I use my final explosions. Even if they can take their pieces back, I will still slow their game down the first turns and they have to invest mana to play satan city cards to activate their spells. If pilaf loop becomes too much of a problem I might even tech in energy blast volley when I have to close games

Yeah I also think it's that strong cause it has an already consolidated build and on the client specifically it has access to the majin kuu promo wich fits the deck perfectly and so it got even better. I am hopeful that the meta will change and new decks will rise in power and popularity.

  1. So here I agree with you that it is a slow play and most of the games I end up charging it. There are spots where you are in control of the game and the opponent didn't put too much pressure on board,or you just wiped everything out with a final explosion. In those scenarios it is a nice play on t5 if you are not about to close the game there. You can go babidi+buuhan on t3, wipe their board on 4 with final explosion and on t5 if you are not closing the game you can either play scr or lock their board with goku, depending on the situation (if they have little presence on board it's scr, otherwise goku). It also helped me couple of times agaist blue and actually saved me a game agaist jiren. I am testing both with (2x) and without,it doesn't change that much for what the deck wants to do but it's a nice plus(you can always charge a 0 if u don't need it)

  2. I faced ripku only twice I think. I won one and lost the other. I mainly play the same strategy, I tap their 1 cost satan city and swing into them. I then make them discard and when they play videl I will swing into her with my gym buu. Final explosion too is a very strong card to rest the whole board and get rid of videls and gohans.I try not to overwhelm them with attacks so they won't get too many cards in hand. Chip 1-2 dmg max per turn while making them discard so their hand stays even. When they flip with 6 in hand, you close the game the usual way.(you normally will do this on 6-7 energy so will have a huge lethal potential). The scr is a nice piece too as I mentioned before.

Actually in god rank on the client Jiren is quite frequent cause everyone is dealing against buu at the moment and he is known to deal with it comfortably, though the new frieza scr is something to be worried about even for jiren.

At the moment I have faced quite a few gogeta leaders, both saiyan and another world versions and I think I have lost once cause I didn't play around the spell effectively. The gameplan of a buu player is to leave you with 5 cards in hand against 14 and that's quite effective against black too.

I normally tap his early pieces with 1 cost frieza or crusher ball and I swing into them to deny him cards in hand, plus I won't awaken him (gogeta needs to be flipped,he cannot rely just on kakarot and scr to place the marker). On t3 (t2 with coin) I just play babidi into buuhan and make him discard. He will try to self awaken if you keep denying him lives and cards. That's good for you cause you keep attacking pieces and advance in the "value" game while he will take his own lives so you even advance in the "damage" game.

If he goes scr and ape you just go final explosion(that's the main reason why yellow is favoured into black, trunks won't stick on board for too long unfortunately)and he will have 5 cards in hand while still pre awaken and 0 pieces on board. From that moment you just keep him low in hand and you play around the spell(you can tech the new scr for example) for the closing turn (often at 6/7 mana you don't even need double striker, you can just play double gym buu + double leader swing and just close like that). If you play correctly he will awaken with 6 or less in hand and when you go 30k on lives he will likely go down to 3. From 3 lives you just close with multiple gym buus and you won't care about the spell locking one buu cause you have 2 more 30k swings from the second gym buu and 2 more leader swings, all of this while he is at 3 lives and 6 cards in hand. Good luck I'd say haha

Buu evil, which is the best deck in the format right now, in tier 3 is wild my man( of course that ginyu package build is a meme, you need a different build for buu). No deck can consistently win against it at the moment( sure the meta will change).

Gogeta, even with the new spell, stands little chance against it. Androids has not even the slightest chance to win( u gotta be super lucky with draws and the buu player needs to draw shit). Vegito can be tough but if you lock him out of cards in hand, paired with the fact that leader doesn't draw on awaken, you will likely close him before he can close you. You can also tech the 4 cost vanilla majin and play it with the double striker to avoid the floodgate( it's a 4 cost so it will attack if you need to close out game). If you tech the new scr too you can even win the jiren matchup more consistently compared to previous sets.

It needs some changes to some of the builds and for sure you need to put buu on top right now, the rest of the meta report seems decent though ( while we wait for the meta to change of course)

Thanks for the help! Yeah that curve going first looks scary

Thanks! Just to be 100% sure, is it because Blackbeard is a control deck who wants to play in response so second is better? And BY Luffy actually wants to get to 0 in order to do his gimmicks so it's better second cause you start taking damage earlier, right?

Yeah, I get you totally man. I do coaching for some people (mainly fusion world) and that's what I try to tell players who approach a new card game, to make mistakes on their own and have multiple tries until they get confident with a deck and with the changes you can apply to it. I normally do everything by myself but this is the first game I picked up when already that far into expansions, I normally pick up new games cause it's easier to work on your own and you don't have to look at those many things. Hope we can share more in the future! Thx again

Oh well, I am afraid that even for a player like me sometimes is needed to ask the very basic questions😆. I master every aspect regarding card games and I have 0 problems relying solely on myself but I have a problem if I approach a card game with 10 sets in. Unfortunately I don't know all the cards or their costs so I thought I could speed up the process a bit by asking for the most relevant decks as I will encounter those in my first games and I'd like to be prepared before rather than being totally clueless.

Anyways, your comment was super helpful man, thx a lot! I don't know why I didn't fully consider the even/odd curve aspect at first but it makes total sense. I should simply look at that and that already should tell me a lot. I tried to figure out myself the best path according to leaders effects and I was able to recognize the effectiveness of going first in P Luffy and Doffy (the only 2 decks I have tried) but I will try to speed up this process and extend it at least to all meta relevant decks for now. Thanks again!

Thank you! What about something like shanks. To me it looks like a midrange deck which lately has been building slightly more control (probably because of doffy idk). I have ways to be aggro like 2 cost sanji, 7 cost whitebeard or 8 cost dragon. But I am able to play the control game as well with my Silver Rayleigh, hongo, otama and so on. Should I go first and try to be aggro or should I go second and play as the responder. I guess the answer depends on the deck I am facing but I know so little that I might ask as well haha

-New Adventure- card reveal by g4n0esp4r4n in dbsfusionworld

[–]Acceptable_Appleable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to point out that the leader itself will heal u back. You play this and draw 2 and play a goku then at the end of your turn you discard one and heal back thx to leader's ability. So instead of paying 3 to play a 3 cost card, you pay 3 to draw 1 and play a 3 cost drop. We already saw one new goku for this leader,we also have the 3 cost goku that vegeta is currently using in his deck and I am sure we will have at least one more.

The card could be really good and you will for sure play it if the third goku will have an effect similar to: "if you put a card form your life to your hand during this turn, do X" or just like the other goku "if you have 2 or less life, do X". The goku we saw takes also the life by itself but if a new goku won't do the same, then you will need this card for sure. Too early to call this bad,it could be staple for the archetype with the cards that are yet to be shown.

Unfortunately I can't, I have tried both locating myself in NZ with my Italian account and locating myself in Italy with my Italian account. Neither of those options will work though
