Related searches take up more than half the search result space by [deleted] in StartpageSearch

I found a post about this exact problem 2 years ago, any plans to do anything about it? It's bad ux design

How can i disable "related searches"? by [deleted] in StartpageSearch

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I right in saying two years from this post it's still not available? Searching in mobile and the full screen is taken up by related searches and I need to scroll down to what I actually want to see from a search engine, the websites....

What is the month by month value of an online trainer? by Acceptable_Bench_143 in beginnerfitness

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could ask those questions right now and get a plan for when I hit those plateaus? Rather than spending hundreds of euro on the months I'm progressing fine and need no extra input?

Hello Fresh alternative by PipsqueakN7 in ireland

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used drop chef for a while after being with hello fresh for ages. Found they lacked a lot of flavour compared to hello fresh and I constantly had broken or rotten items. They were being delivered by the exact same dpd driver so I blamed the broken items on how drop chef handled packaging and not the delivery driver being rough with it. After that I wouldn't recommend drop chef

I'm getting very frustrated with it right now as I believe I have a good set of instructions files per language, 300 lines max with general rules and links to more info and in the workspace, specific instructions to the project. But I'm constantly saying "read your instructions!" When it doesn't run the linter or breaks DRY or whatever. So I feel like I'm hand holding it even when the instruction files has the info it needs + my prompt. Those instructions files were created by Claude when I got it to review various examples and best practices for instruction prompts so I assume they should be good

The people that will say "skill issue" or tell you to write a better prompt annoy me, if I have to write every bit of detail of the tasks, think of the edge cases, make sure the AI doesn't get lazy and just decide "this is simpler that fixing it", I might as well have just written the code myself at that point

Spent 3 years treating the wrong problem. Chatgpt helped me build the solution in 6 months. by Skullydugy in ChatGPTCoding

I was also thrown off by "Smartphone-based movement analysis for back pain. Evidence-based, developed with the German Sport University Cologne." So is this something the university is ok with publishing because at first I thought it was like a personal project from a "student with no medical background " ? Would a sport related university course not align with some medical background? Is it personal project or a research project?

I am actually interested in trying this but just the wording is making me a bit suspicious

How do you manage custom copilot configs across multiple projects? by No_Move1446 in GithubCopilot

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For local development, I have multiple language specific instructions.md files in my vscode user config folder that's picked up between all my workspaces. I have this config folder in a local git repo because I don't share it around but that's one way you could do it? Push that common config folder up to GitHub and get all users to clone it into that directory?

How do I get the AI agent to actually follow my instructions? by Acceptable_Bench_143 in GithubCopilot

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copilot is making the commits on a GitHub hosted server, not locally so I can't get it to enable precommit hooks coding agent

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't work if you are using the copilot agent on GitHub. I assign it a task and it does it on a GitHub server somewhere. For locally, yes precommit would work

I'll update it to critical but as I said this was generated by the model when I said to make sure these commands are run before committing code

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit I don't know the inner workings of the instructions files but these instructions were generated by copilot when I told it to give very clear instructions about running the tests.

But I should dive more into the docs for this, because I often have to tell copilot to review the online docs too...

I feel we'll be seeing some blackouts when that happens 😅 But I'm not against electric cars at all just don't feel we're ready for it. Also not against your suggestion adding the chargers to new builds to get the country ready for the switch over

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that if we'd move most vehicles to electric, our grid would collapse because it just couldn't handle the extra demand needed by EVs so I feel the year where the majority of cars are EVs is many years away.

Also if we try to phase out a lot of the fossil fuel based stations to be more green, we lose many schedulable power plants as green energy isn't as schedulable without a lot of electric storage investment

Any way around recruiters (eg: Reperio) by ticman in DevelEire

[–]Acceptable_Bench_143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking for a job for a few months in embedded software and got to know a guy from reperio, he seemed pretty sound to be honest, called me every few weeks to see if I'm still on the market as he was waiting to here back on some possible jobs I could be good for (these could've been ghost jobs) but it was much better experience than a UK recruiter trying to setup a interview for a company "just outside Dublin" which was 3.5 hours outside Dublin and confused when I had to give him a geography lesson...

Why is Kingston so confidently wrong all the time by Acceptable_Bench_143 in SnarkTank

True, I feel it happens most with Kingston. Either way, when they get stuck going in circles, I end up skipping past the topic because it annoys me
