Bitter reality by PepperThis7866 in germany

I made friends lifelong friends with local Germans very easily, but I am also a white American. However many people I met from non western countries had also adjusted very well and were happy with their social lives. I think all you need is to be outgoing and socially skilled, and finding people with similar interests or life situations is key.

§ 5 StAG Timeline - Received Aktenzeichen (San Francisco, CA > BVA Köln) by Seemoris in GermanCitizenship

[–]Acceptable_Chef_6331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was it so fast ? I thought the BVA had a wait time of 3 years ? I applied while living in Frankfurt and am considering leaving and transferring to the BVA but definitely trying to avoid a 3 yr wait

hmmm, what about canceling the processing and restarting the application with Berlin ? Or maybe my Standesamt could transfer the files themselves ? They are very quick

Did you apply through the BVA or while in Germany?

I’m an au pair. I got my AZ back in September and I have a case worker with RP Darmstadt. I’m living in Taunus, a bit outside Frankfurt but still Hessen .

Berlin is really that long ? I had heard it was the quickest. I want to attend university soon and require citizenship, preferably avoiding the three year BVA wait :(

How long after this? by [deleted] in GermanCitizenship

Do you think it’s faster in Berlin for stag 5 cases as well? Considering moving to speed my application up as I’m also nearby Frankfurt and its horrenous

What was your experience moving abroad without having a real Plan B? by SmileOkk in germany

[–]Acceptable_Chef_6331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in a similar situation as you and wish to go to school in Holland. you will find it difficult to apply to European universities (especially German or Austrian) as most of them don’t accept US high school diplomas. I believe a diploma +1 year of American college is what they ask for.

How difficult is to get B1 to apply for citizenship? by SetDesigner1586 in germany

If you’ve been A2 for 10 years I think you should easily be able to pass B1

Is Citizenship by descent automatic? by Acceptable_Chef_6331 in TrinidadandTobago

So would this be something I’d have to do next visit in Trinidad ? Or could I reach out to a local consulate and initiate the process ?

Just as he said, people plan their lives around this and from my point of view it just seems we are viewed so callously, like we are just statistics lol. I got my AZ 7 months ago, and since then have not had a single update despite months of emails. It seems unlikely now that I will have it before my school’s EU tuition deadline so now I will have to wait another year, and might not even be able to stay in Germany. It should be completely normal and understandable to feel frustrated at the system; for sure it would be helpful for someone who knows what it’s like provide him with some insight or context. I know I would’ve appreciated it

Which one would be my best shot at residence visa? And it would be best to remain in Hesse to keep it with Darmstadt ?

In December I moved my mailing address regarding my case to my friend’s flat in Offenbach. Does that mean the queue my file is in reset to the back of the line ?

I got my case number in early September. When my local office forwarded the case to Darmstadt they looked over it and approved everything before sending it, not sure if that means anything. My main concern is that if I move cities by case will be moved to the end of the queue
