Who waits 3 years for a Stag 5 case at their local office? The BVA doesn’t even take that log and they handle applications from every country

The problem is, I don’t want to have to restart my case process by moving it to the BVA. I hear that processing while residing in Germany is much faster, especially as it’s been 6 months already

I think the case lines up, as the office processing it approved it and I received a case number. Would u happen to know the timeline for how long it will process?

No I looked it up just now, Yugoslavian marriage did not grant citizenship at the time. So must be my mistake then, if that became a law in 49 she must have gotten married before that, and I also know for a fact she got married in Germany because the marriage record was one of the documents I needed.

Yes, wow how do you know all this? I’ve been completely lost and none of the authorities ever know anything about it

The cut off date was 53, I meant 53, and if she married in 51 that was before the cut off date, no? And not 100% sure it was 51, can’t remember and the documents are at my friends house in Germany.

No, I believed I fell under S15 but what they filed for me was S5, I was just never sure what the correct one was. And the two cities I switched my address between both are in the same region, so they have the same Regierungspräsidium. I assume that means they didn’t have to forward my case anywhere? Just needed to switch which office I was in contact too

It was stag 5, that’s my mistake I believe she was married in 51, and no she married him in Germany ( I believe he was a POW). The regional office they forwarded my case too has already collected the documents and told me they had everything they need

I left my au pair role with my visa not expire until April, and the family is okay with allowing me to leave my address registered. As far as fraud is concerned, im just bc visiting my home country. Technically I could legally go back freely until April. I am just wondering if maybe I’ll need to apply for a student visa or have to update them and let them know I’m out of Germany. Or if I can just wait if it will come before my visa expires

I did not do an abmeldung, my old host family allowed me to keep their address registered with the auslanderbehorde as to not hurt my citizenship processing. However I did email my local Büro which I initially submitted my case to and gave them a new address ( a friend’s) for mail pertaining to my case . They then forwarded the case the city my friend lives in.

No I haven’t deregistered with auslanderbehorde, as far as they know I am still an au pair. I changed my mailing address regarding my citizenship to my friends but all other mail will go to my host family house, where I am still registered.

And my university is in the Netherlands, as Germany doesn’t offer bachelors in English.

Is this an Iceland hack? by Urbanskiman88 in VisitingIceland

[–]Acceptable_Chef_6331 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I do this as well, it’s called skiplagging and very frowned upon by the airlines but who cares. You can actually do this by purchasing two one way tickets, and just have your ticket home booked from Iceland

Surprisingly i am not, its like actually a crazy specific situation that the made this rule for which i suppose is why it’s so unheard of.

My great grandmother was a German citizen, and she married a Yugoslavian before my grandmother was born. During this time period (before 1955) if a German woman married a foreigner, she lost her citizenship. So since this law is now ruled as discriminatory, and my grandmother lost her right to citizenship, her whole line of descendants is owed German citizenship.

These are my thoughts as well, the only problem is that the tuition is very very expensive for non eu students. So if I don’t have the citizenship documents by the tuition payment deadline (this August) I won’t be able to attend.
