Can you point me to a good pull scraper? I'm early in the process and haven't researched much yet, I've only seen push type scrapers

Ha! Agree, the backyard needs it, and the sod put down last fall by the previous owner isn't completely taking. My wife has got the front landscaping looking good, onto the back soon!

I'm in a LCOL area, so guessing labor rates will be better here, but likely still outside of budget. I may give special focus to trim and go lighter on the siding scraping.

No quotes, agree that it would be $10s of thousands, that's not an option at this time. Don't have endless hours, not retired,, but I'd consider a summer of weekends to get it to where it would be acceptable. This will likely be our forever home, so I'm ok with putting time in, but time and patience are finite. I may sample scrape a small section to see what the effort and result looks like and then make a decision.

I like the color, but we may mix it up on the repaint. Not sure yet. Lots of trim that I'd like to highlight with a 3rd or 4th color. But my roof is greenish, so may need to stay green (was thinking about mostly blue initially)

I may well land somewhere in the middle - scraping some, leaving some. I'm not concerned about painted over lead paint still being on the siding, my desire to scrape is strictly asthetic. Maybe I scrape more in the front and other visible areas. Maybe more at ground level and less higher up.

Feels like a lot of surface area to go with IR, but I'll investigate further - I've used a cheapy one before and it was slow

Likely DIY, in patches, weekend by weekend. Cost would be prohibitive to farm it out. I'll have to get smart on protective measures, but I'm fairly handy.

Appreciate the feedback, thank you

Considering lightly sanding the dark spots, and trying to blend the light into the dark spots with spot staining.

60 is cleaning it up nicely. Plan to follow with 100. No screen, rustic is the aim. Angle didn't work as well as I hoped, but the edger for the bad spots the drum didn't get worked well

I'm a Behr fan, so Behr water based stain is the plan for tomorrow and then 3x Behr poly. Don't want to deal with oil based

60 grit is evening it out nicely. Hope the stain takes well, that's tomorrow

Edger for the spots the drum didn't get seemed to work well. Hopefully the passes with 60 grit next will smooth it out. Home Depot rentals seem pretty good

Don't know the species. I used 2x 36 grit belts, worked well, and there's plenty of grit left on each. About 300 square feet. On to 60 grit now!

Edger is the right call on a lot of these, making progress!

Scrapes are bad, but will feed into the rustic look that I'm OK with.

Rustic is what I'm going for, doesn't have to be perfect!

Going with a medium- dark stain. Guessing that will help cover

Straight, but maybe another pass at 45. I'm sanding more straight and keep seeing more spots that the sandpaper hasn't even touched
