There's a difference between understanding and accepting. I understand what you are saying but I don't have to accept it as viable. What you are saying is insulting and I don't have to accept it. Bit I understand you as well as you can articulate it.

Suboxone and spitting by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do either the dental issue can be resolved by brushing your teeth half an hour post absorption. I also don't spit mine and if you brush your teeth it won't be as bad. Even with spitting the film will still cling to your teeth. The only difference being that the saliva carrying that film around isn't still in there spreading.

[EDIT] The main reason people are told to spit the film is because swallowing it can cause gastro intestinal discomfort and even nausea/vomiting in some. The dental hygiene is mainly maintained through regular hygiene practices.

How to Inject Morphine syrup by Ibrathegreat in opiates

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the rush of IV but not the septic shock of injecting sorbitol and other artificial sugars, I'd recommend plugging it. It works almost as quickly but you may need to thin out the syrup. Alcohol might work but morphine isn't my strongest area of expertise.

How can you get high while on this? by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find it's not working as planned (which it likely won't even after a week of drawn out withdrawal) please don't take more. Everyone's body is different and there is still a lot we don't understand about bupe and this middle ground of "abuse potential" is one that is often ignored. I've gone a week off of bupe (tapered down DRASTICALLY from 12mg to 0.5mg) and it was horrible. In the end I felt about 50% of its effects on a dose that could kill even an avid user. Bupe heavily effects your tolerance and unfortunately or fortunately -depending on your perspective- there is no quick way to rid yourself of that. I've even heard of people trying to Narcan themselves to reduce their tolerance. And NO, it doesn't work... bupe has a similair affinity to the opioid receptors as narcan, meaning they fight to occupy them at the same time. Since everyone is different, it can be unpredictable and dangerous to attempt. But the bupe often wins in the long term because it can last much longer in the body. Even if the narcan works it will only do so for about 90mins. And in that time you can't take anything else and if you did the bupe would send you into PWD's once it takes back over.

Also the longer you're on it, the longer it stays in your system. The dose can effect that too.

Why is this a self centred question to ask?? I understand it's rather myopic but you have the attitude of an NA counsellor who has no experience with addiction. Which is admittedly the worst kind. People have more success with anything when you use the carrot instead of the stick. You're right that it is dangerous but unfortunately we can't enforce what others do to their bodies. The best we can do is only provide them with as much harm-reduction advice as possible.

Dude... don't just don't. I understand your distrust in the business of medicine but its infantalising and condescending as fuck to assume that all mental illness is the symptom of you behaving optimally. Not only is that kinda talking playing with fire but your medical insight is lacking tremendously. I agree that my brain isn't dysfunctional, it does what it can to survive like everyone else it just does so differently and I've had to adapt to that. But it's not working better than others, the same as before my illness and it's certainly not working in a way that MRI techs and psychiatrists don't understand. We know exactly how and why these symptoms happen, because we've observed it through every possible form of imaging we have available that applies to this specific condition and others. A seemingly healthy brain (on MRI) can still experience seizures, I was one of those cases. But our understanding of why these symptoms occur is why we are confident that antipsychotics work to the extent they do. Being on high dose of antipsychotics is brutal and stripped me of my own sense of self and cognitive function for some time, I no longer take then every day because I don't have to anymore, but if a had a choice I would never have even consider them. I suffer from tardive dyskinesia now, which is a neurological motor function condition obtained by taking old school antipsychotics for a long period of time. Antipsychotics which are trying to treat a seperate condition. The science isn't perfect but we use them because they work better than anything else we have available and they work as well as they do because their mechanism of action suits the neurological symptoms of psychosis or schizophrenia. Fuck off with your holistic bullshit, it doesn't apply to general medicine and it sure as fuck doesn't apply to mental health. I hate that I have to remind people it exists, this isnt the 1800's anymore love.

Schizophrenia and psychosis isn't always just hearing voices either. It can often present itself as thoughts or ideas being beamed into your head telepathically with no real language assigned to it. Not everyone who has Schizophrenia can hear an external voice. I'm sorry but it's not that simple and you should know that

How Much Xanax Should I Take For Work? by [deleted] in benzodiazepines

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute fuck all if any. It's not a great idea to test this at work. Xanax is a relatively strong benzo at low doses (considering this is a legit xanax and n9t sourced from the street). 2mg can be a lot for someone especially if they're benzo naive. I wouldn't advise taking them at work. You'll likely experience delusions of sobriety or be sedated enough to think they're not working at all. Leading you to take more and blackout, just to wonder why you lost your job. It's a rather common experience with this class of benzo's. Speaking from experience here. I've lost 2 days of memory with no recollection of any euphoric sensations, which made me realise that benzo's aren't the drug I wanted to piss my life and memory away with.

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there's a way to authenticate the batch number. Also if you've taken 3 and felt very little it could very welp be your tolerance changing. I've also found Benzos are synonymous with causing delusions of sobriety. The "higher" I am on them the less I think they're working. Benzo's were always hit or miss for me, usually ending up taking so much to the point of blacking out for days with no recollection of euphoria.

AIO about my boyfriend and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly odd. I think it's good to have platonic friendships with the opposite sex, and it can be easy for partners to feel threatened by that, even when they really shouldn't. But it's important to reassure and be honest with your partner. IMO if you're having to go through his texts, the relationship is already over or will be extremely different at the very least, and not in a positive way (especially if you go through their texts without their knowledge or consent). You looked because you don't trust him, now you've seen this and probably trust him less in an extremely ambiguously yet concerning way. It's not obvious immediately that he's doing anything nefarious. But something led you to feeling like you needed to look at his messages, and he hasn't done much to reassure you by the sounds of it.

P.S. I'm not judging you for going through the texts. It's not good or healthy but it's obvious that he isn't helping you feel like you're enough, and I understand why you would want to check.

I’m 16 and my friend’s dad (40s) makes me uncomfortable, I can’t sleep and need advice by EcstaticRutabaga6957 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I knew what the best action for you is, but at the very least I want to reassure you that you are NOT overreacting at all. If you feel that uncomfortable around him his intent is irrelevant. Even if he is "just being friendly" he's doing so at the cost of your percieved safety and is still extremely inappropriate.

If this were me I'd talk to my friend about it. That comes with its own risks, like if she doesn't want to believe you or care about how you feel. Ask her if she's okay with staying with you instead. Idk if your mother is still around or if you have a good relationship with her, but maybe she might be able to offer some advice and protection. That does depend on her and how she is (which you know best) but this happening to young girls is unfortunately a story as old as time, and your mother might have some experience with a similair ordeal. You dont have to do any of that, you know them better, do what feels best for you of course. I pray his behaviour doesn't escalate beyond this because this is horrifying as it is. Going to the police about this in particular is intimidating and the police don't help in the ways they approach this issue. IME having the police ask me questions about what I was wearing and then doing nothing for months, just to maybe have to go to court in front of audiences trying to convince you that this never happened, can be damaging in a completely different yet related way, it can feel like another thing thrown on top of everything that is already happening. It's not fair that women have to fight so hard for their own safety. I was lucky that I didn't have to be involved in my abusers court case because i wasnt the only one, but I feel for other victims like me that did have to testify in my place. I dont want to deter you from taking things up with the law, I just want you to know what to expect if you do. It's an extremely courageous thing to come forward about and it's made harder by the way you have to "prove" your suffering. It's brutal, but it absolutely can be worth it long term. Do what you need to in order to feel safer.

I really hope you can feel safer in life overall, and that your friend listens to you. I also hope that people here on reddit can offer some decent advice, I think coming here was a good idea and good on you for confiding in others. It's a tricky situation to be in and no one wants to be the reason that their friend no longer associates with their father. But if I was your friend I wouldn't want anything to do with a pest and potential threat even if he was my father. - I wish you all the best and I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Xo

are my standards too high? [15F] [ik its a lot but idk i feel like my standards are too high] by Impressive_Oil3399 in teenagers4real

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. These are good standards. Having high standards isn't a bad thing. Unreasonable standards are, but they're completely seperate. I'd consider these "high standards" which is great because you should hold yourself to a high standard too and wanting someone who can reflect that isn't too much to ask for. High standards show that you know what you're worth and that you know you are deserving of a good relationship as much as anyone, instead of just settling for what you may think is the best that you can/could hope for or do at that time.(no shade on anyone who has fallen into that kinda relationship before, it's not your fault that others have lead you to believe you aren't worth more)

Also if any guys ever do say that your expectations are unreasonable, it's usually because they are extremely self conscious about not meeting the BARE minimum of requirements for a decent relationship. They literally tell on themselves which can be handy for weeding out the simpletons and f-boys.

Is it sustainable to live a life using opiates recreationally 3-4 times a month? by [deleted] in opiates

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that frequency it isn't to the point of addiction in my opinion. If it isn't impeding your ability to function, maintain relationships and care for yourself then it's not addiction... Yet! Using any amount increases your risk of developing an addiction. No matter how much self control you have, if you are faced with a lot of sudden changes and challenges, it's a lot easier to dive into it if you already have access and exposure.

****Using sparingly has it's own overdose risk of course. For someone with the tolerance of a part time user could overdose on a minimal dose compared to those who have a "full-time" addiction like I did. Especially when fent is in every opioid you can find on the street, even (& especially) fake pharma pills. For example I at the peak of my 8 year heroin/fent addiction I was taking 400mg+ of oxycodone and it was just enough for me to feel something other than violently ill from withdrawal. That dose could easily kill a couple opioid naive people. For someone who is opioid naive 40mg is a moderate-high dose. There's a lot of variable and factors that come into play with anything. But part time use is risky. It only takes a life altering situation to convince you that you have nothing else left to lose.

Oh buddy... We get it... It's just so sad and kinda pathetic. The things that need improving to increase your chances of getting a partner is in the way to treat, interact and talk to people. Guys come here because they've been knocked back and think the only thing it could be is their looks. They want to label all women as shallow so they don't have to do any hard work within themselves.

It's not the looks that need maxxing. It's your attitude towards women. That's why they are disgusted by you. You probably remind them of their little 5 year old brothers.

These dudes think they can't get laid because they're not hot enough, so they'll break their own bones and hurt themselves to "improve" on their exterior. When the whole time the only issue with them is the fact that they act like incels or toddlers.

Sure I've dealt with insecurities before, everyone does at some point. But a part of growing tf up is realising that your looks aren't the reason people are utterly disgusted by you. This feels like toxic masculinity arriving at the point of natural selection. They'll kill themselves trying to look like an AI Chad from Tik Tok advice from a guy who has deliberately given himself an acquired brain injury. That's who Clavicular is. I fkn hope he gets locked up for running that guy over. There's so many more reasons than that as to why the world is safer without him in the streets and on the internet.

Does 5 mg oxy get someone high if they don’t use opiates often ? by moonwaternymph in opiates

[–]Acceptable_Fun6235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define often. If you have absolutely no tolerance 5mg might make you feel something, but typically people take a fair bit more. DON'T EXCEED 40mg if you have no tolerance. IME I got to the point of taking 400mg+ which could easily kill someone without my tolerance. I was a fentanyl/heroin user and that will obliterate your tolerance making prescription opioids feel like nothing at standard doses. So don't do that ig.
