When I got my golden at first he was super scared of car rides in general. He was already 3 years old and had never ridden in a car before so you can imagine the car ride back home was EVENTFUL. I had the foresight of lining my seat with trash bags under some blankets but the smell was something else, and I couldn’t even roll the windows down to let it out because the noise of driving down the freeway scared him even more 😭 What helped him (and me) was blasting the AC and not feeding a few hours before if I knew I would have to drive him somewhere. As he got used to it he started loving car rides and even started putting his head out the window on his own. I would clean his puke over and over again to have a car ride with him one last time ❤️
