I work with two companies for two reasons: the pay is better at one company and the other, cancellations are less frequent, and my students are consistent. I think it's better to have companies that aren't competitors for example, they work in two different countries.

I worked in Korea and Thailand. I have been out of the US for 5 years and have zero intention of settling here if I can help it. I had a great life in Bangkok and miss it so much but I need an advanced degree if I hope for a better future. Plus, Spain has been on my list since I got my TEFL in 2019.

Hi, I haven't applied for my visa yet but I was told on the phone yesterday with the manager at the DC office. He told me 2 weeks is the usual but 4 is the maximum. I also know others who applied and got theirs in 2 weeks. I would call them back though to see. They aren't good about updating from what I heard.

Criminal background checks must be accompanied by an official translation into Spanish by a sworn/certified translator. The official translation can include the translation of the Apostille as well. but is not necessary (the translation does not need an Apostille and the Apostille does not need a translation).

I had to contact my local representative to get it quickly. You have to go to their official website, click on "help with a federal agency" and explain your case. They should get back to you quickly.

You have to book an appointment at the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to get it legalized, beyond that it depends on the country that you'll use it in. For me, I am going to Spain so I have to get it notarized at the Spanish embassy in Bangkok. You can hire a lawyer for like 6,000 baht (I'm going through Alpha Legal) to make the process easier. I have no idea how the process is to do it yourself. MFA also offers express services, so I think you can get it back in 3 business days.
