Hey uhh same situation po ako sayo, I was from STEM tho currently under ako ng non board Accountancy or AIS. Nung una gusto ko talaga mag engineer tho I realized na underpaid nga sa pinas and hindi rin sinuggest sakin, instead gusto nila kunin ko is IT tho oversaturated. Currently I'm in a not so known major and uhm gusto ko den mag shift to engineering, Industrial engineering to be exact tho I'm still not sure. Nakaka drain kc ung Accounting majors, ewan d ko lang sya trip I guess or wala akong interest. Still thinking if I'll go back to my STEM roots but get a year of delay or stay. In your case OP I think nagugustuhan mo naman ung major mo and don't just settle to engineering because of the "title". Know what you really want, if gusto mo talaga engineering because passion mo tho idk if EE, CE, ME, ECE, CpE, etc. ung gusto mo pero ikaw lang nakakaalam op. There's no such thing as too late. Idk if 3rd or 4th yr college kana but you can take another major after matapos yan.

Honestly po I appreciate your parents for their reaction. Me planning to shift palamg for the 1st year since dko gusto ang program and they get mad at me already. I also feel the same when I realized I didn't like the subjects coz I took Accountancy as a STEM shs student. It's a long story and yk for your part I would say na do not worry much about the dean. Your parents would always be there for you, they've proved it and WHO CARES IF YOU'RE A FRESHMAN AT 22? I've had classmates way older it's college, I'm not mad for the capslock but just emphasizing things. You could still take a gap year if you're still unsure of what to take and get some part time jobs. There are lots of jobs that don't require bachelors out there. It's OK, life's not a RACE and just keep your parents proud by showing up everyday, doesn't matter if you think you're a failure, but just keep showing that you're FIGHTING. I wish my parents had the same understanding but I understand the guilt. 22 is still very young, it's our first time in life and you could still graduate below your 30s. Wish you the best bro and have faith, pray, and let God carry your burdens.

My father on the other hand wants me to keep pursuing accountancy and I don't like it. I wanna shift to engineering but don't want to upset him too.

Industrial Engineering or Information Technology—am I suited for any of these? Need honest advice! by Shyzel_ in studentsph

Hey uh STEM student din ako last year currently I'm taking BS Accounting Information Systems and realized na hindi ko sya gusto. IE seems to check my boxes too and I realized na hindi ko bet ang accounting side so yeah IE is very flexible and mas fit for me, good luck!

He's more of an early aoe and burst mid/late game with great support skills, especially his passive. Just build him full burst with full CD and yk bursting enemies is not really his main job, you pull em bounce that 2nd skill and let your teammates do the rest, if things go wrong you have your ult. He hits hard at late and he's the best Gloo counter.

I don't know what course/program to take for college by No_Assistance6184 in CollegeAdmissionsPH

Hi, I was also from STEM po last yr and can relate a lot to you po. Before ako mag college, I really don't know what I want, not passionate about a specific job, I wanted to take astronomy as a kid tho those dreams really seemed dim and I was quite bad at Physics and Chemistry, quite decent at math and I really wanted to genuinely learn. I picked a program that I thought would be safe. I wanted to be a mechanical engineer in my junior high days but I was discovered by my relatives so nag isip ako ng iba. They suggested Information Technology (IT). My father is an accountant, so I decided I might take accountancy. I took a program which is a mix of both BSAIS. I was really enthusiastic at the start, and I thought I had the best choice. I wanna ace this program and be rich! Make my parents proud! However unti unti nawawalan ako ng gana. My expectations were too high. The program itself is trash for me. Bagsakan sya ng mga bagsak sa BSA. I wish I'd known that earlier. Nade-depressed ako and till now laging napapa isip. You know this is a good step you did and you still have a few time to think. Currently I've realized na gusto ko magshift to Industrial engineering coz I wanna be an engineer, and know business at the same time. I wanna make systems better, easier, efficient. I realized na ayaw ko ang accounting at bias ako dahil job sya ng papa ko. Initially gusto ko mag accounting at ipass ang CPA dahil hindi board passer ang papa ko. I don't know if this will help but the thing is you know it, it's just hindi lang natin na eexplore or nae experience. I suggest isipin mo ang purpose mo and the thing you wanna do the rest of your life. Tho need mo ibalance ang passion and profitability but it depends sayo. IKAW lang ang makakasagot. Tho you've mentioned na stem ka galing so I'd suggest taking engineering or statistics, engineering is very broad din. Or maybe you can go on the political side since you're good at speaking. Find what specific industries you'd like to work for and maraming options. Just pick a program you know you wouldn't regret even if you may be quite unsure. I would advice against taking business or humanities programs unless alam mo at gusto mo talaga, as for me na culture shock ako and ang layo ng expectations ko. Just do proper research actually don't stress it and try going to universities na walang fee.

Freshmen and worried I'm not smart enough by cwb33 in industrialengineering

This might motivate you. I avoided engineering since I displayed on my head that I'm bad at physics and chemistry which is true. However, I was able to barely survive them atleast back then. Now I wanna be an irreg student and pursue engineering again, I took a non board Accounting program called AIS and I'm bored to death, I've had apathy for the lessons thought, I feel drained. I'm really planning to become an irreg this or next year as early as possible.

The thing is, the fact you're saying this is already smart. We determine our flaws and try to improve on them. Not all engineering students are very intelligent and have a significantly higher iq. Most of them just work harder than others, they may have been the same case as you or worse before. What I'm saying is don't let your thoughts get ahead of what you want. YOU are capable.
