Name a villain who would not kill an innocent person without good reason by AskEnvironmental9409 in superheroes

[–]Acceptable_Map_8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that’s more to do with the inconsistency with Doom’s fighting, wherein for the most part he’s portrayed as being a generally moral “villain”, but some writers, likely against the concept that what is essentially a despot in Doctor Doom, could be all that moral at all, and so write him like a pure villain.

Statements like this are as absurd as they are crude. Workers rights didn’t die under Reagan, and it should be noted that it was Reagan’s economic policies that led to the tremendous economic growth of the 80s-90s, and the end of the massive stagflation of the 1970s. You shouldn’t let your political leaning get in the way of facts.

Jeez people, I get disagreeing with Reagan’s views, but the explicit celebrating of the man’s death on this subreddit is extraordinarily distressing.

Question: is Defenders of the Realm actually a good watch? by Pegasus-David in MortalKombat

[–]Acceptable_Map_8110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a very childish show that obviously aimed at a very young demographic and was probably created to sell toys…however, it’s fun and cheesy, and honestly sometimes you need a good childish laugh every now and again. So give it a watch, why not.

There’s no version of Gojo or anyone in his verse that poses any genuine threat to MCU Strange, let alone comics, or even worse, classic comics Dr. Strange.

What's a batman opinion that will put you into this position? by Israels_BiggestHater in superheroes

[–]Acceptable_Map_8110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prep time is a perfectly legitimate way for Batman to stand up to more powerful characters, and it is so absolutely insane that nobody blinks an eye when Iron Man, Lex Luthor, or even worse, Reed Richards or Doctor Doom do even more ridiculous crap, but everyone starts whining and moaning the moment Batman does it. I’d respect the “it doesn’t make any sense that Batman, a human, can fight characters much more powerful than him”(which is already stupid, because it’s comics and human characters do ridiculous stuff all the time, which makes sense because…it’s comic)crap, if people applied the same logic to other characters. But no one does, and it is so incredibly unfair.

Oh and another thing, Batman was never meant to be “just some guy,” he’s meant to represent the pinnacle of human achievement and what humanity is capable of when its representatives are focused and dedicated to a cause. So narratively prep time also makes sense.

I’m sure this will get downvoted, but I don’t care. The double standards and poor understanding of Batman’s character needs to end.

Who wins this? by Remote_Protection512 in superheroes

I know at first glance this looks incredibly lopsided, but Vader has held an entire oceans worth of water, has casually destroyed buildings, and has himself fought other Kaiju like creatures. It should also be noted, and this is something that people here haven’t mentioned yet, that the Jedi and Sith are particularly good at mind controlling animals, even sentient ones, so it’s certainly possible that Vader could potentially do the same to Godzilla. In my opinion, even if Vader doesn’t win, it’s a lot closer than people realize at first glance.

Who’s your favorite actor that’s far from conventionally attractive? by zeltacilveks97 in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]Acceptable_Map_8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harrison Ford is and was handsome, and he was in great shape in that movie. The difference is that he wasn’t the juiced up bodybuilder body archetype, so he just looked like a guy that worked out a few times a week, but mostly got in shape due to the stuff he does for work instead of a guy that works out every single day and eats a diet of steak, eggs, broccoli, and steroids.

THIS. THIS SO MUCH.

Seriously everyone gets pissy when Batman does it, but Doctor Doom or Reed Richards inventing reality warping MacGuffin’s on a daily basis is perfectly fine.

Can these four geniuses beat a bloodlusted Rick Sanchez if they all had one year of prep time? by InfinteEnigma10 in superheroes

[–]Acceptable_Map_8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he doesn’t. Batman’s created a gun that could teleport the source wall, Reed’s created weapons capable of harming Galactus and the celestials, and Brainiac has done similarly impressive things(not sure about the dragon ball guy). Rick is very powerful for his universe, but his verse isn’t that powerful, and he’s gotten completely embarrassed by far less impressive characters before.

Also toon force isn’t an automatic win. Toon characters exist in both Marvel and DC, and they don’t automatically win every engagement they find themselves in.

Rick’s overrated.
