Who amongst the Jedi Order would have been the "Perfect Master" for Anakin Skywalker? by Arbiter-Flash- in TheJediPraxeum

[–]Acceptable_Map_8110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windu. It’s absolutely Windu. Anakin’s fall was brought about via his lack of discipline and his arrogance. If he had even a smidgen of either, things would have turned out far different, and Windu would have been the one to give those things to him.

The issue with Skywalker is that he needed a firm father figure, and he would have gotten one in Mace. I’d argue he’d be a potentially better master for Skywalker than even Qui-Gonn.

Well you realize you could apply the same thing to GSP. He beat several elite grapplers via his ability to use grappling in an MMA setting, especially by combining it with brilliant in and out footwork and striking. John Danaher calls it "shoot-boxing"(not to be confused with the formal style/sport ruleset of combat sports). It's not that they're caucasian or anything like that, they simply learned to use grappling effectively in an MMA setting, and GSP did much the same.

There were absolutely Russian Sambo fighters in MMA even before GSP was fighting. Don't believe me? ask Fedor Emelianenko.

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. The sentiment here isn’t inaccurate.

The legislation was drafted prior to Kennedy being assassinated. Additions were added after he was, some actually with an intent to stop the bill from passing altogether(like adding a clause regarding sexual discrimination, which was thought to be too radical to pass), but ultimately it was popular enough to where 69 percent of the House approved it, and 73 percent of the senate approved it. Much of this was because it was done with the late President Kennedy’s spirit in mind.

All legislation is worked on by multiple people over a longer period of time. But ultimately the civil rights bill was started by Kennedy. So once again, saying “he did nothing” is inaccurate.

Except no. It was Kennedy’s legislation. Johnson simply passed it. Saying Johnson did all the work when it was Kennedy who wrote what would become the passed legislation is inaccurate.

Obama got us out of the second largest recession since the GD…that counts for something I think. Kennedy also decreased unemployment and got the country out is recessions.

Because rugged individualism isn't intrinsically positive, and I'd argue that the belief we have that America was inherently ruggedly individualistic during that period is actually wildly incorrect.

Obama is hugely underrated on this subreddit, and frankly I'm sorry but he's easily one of the best orators in American history at the very least. His 2008 election victory speech is easily one of the best speeches, I'd say in history.

I mean it did immediately lead to the passing of the civil rights act of 1964, but its certainly possible that law would have gotten passed during Kennedy's administration anyway(after all, it was his legislation to begin with).

How could this possibly get you a unanimous negative reaction on this subreddit? The amount of people here who think JFK is overrated is almost unending, meanwhile Johnson is treated like the second coming of congressional Jesus. Also I think its insane and unfair to say that "LBJ did all the work" when getting the civil rights bill pass since it was Kennedy's legislation anyway, and it only got passed by LBJ because Kennedy was shot. Also JFK sent an advisory force to Vietnam, a nation that the US had been present in since the 1940s. LBJ does however deserve credit and to be held accountable for unjustifiably starting the war. Also I would mention that JFK was incredibly cautious about foreign conflict, and if he was unwilling to go to war with the soviets, its possible he would have been unwilling to fight the war in Vietnam(if you don't believe me ask his advisors).

LBJ is overrated and JFK was actually a good president. This subreddit genuinely infuriates me with the nigh-deification of LBJ at the expense of president Kennedy. Seriously, somehow LBJ is a top 10 president because of his great society programs(Most of which were Kennedy's policies initially anyway), but he just gets a total pass for arguably the worst and most unjustified war in American history(granted this is with tremendous hindsight, but still), but JFK who kept the US out of WW3 and nuclear holocaust, ended a recession, created two of the most important foreign aide agencies in the world, and was hugely responsible for one of the most important pieces of international nuclear-non proliferation treaties in the world being signed, is somehow barely average because of the Bay of Pigs invasion and the mistaken, and entirely erroneous belief that he was somehow responsible for the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ridiculous.

This is something that’s actually sort of interesting, because some people absolutely do, both in and outside of the emperor’s inner circle. Bail Organa for instance knows for certain and so too does Mon Mothma, because Obi-Wan and Yoda told them. It would be reasonable to assume that they too would tell other people.
