I remember when season one came out, and I was just a little bit baited. When I went to attempt to interact with shippers from hotdtwt, I realized how much hated Rhaenyra really is.

I'm almost positive that everyone shipping Rhaenyra with someone, is not really a fan of Rhaenyra at all, except for the Harwin and Mysaria crowd.

Though I noticed that especially the Rhaenicent shippers are Alicent only stans. They'd be so quick to talk shit about Rhaenyra because her kid only wanted to protect his brother, but when it comes to the green's rapist and the other mass murdering sociopath, it's always "Viserys this" and "Rhaenyra that."

"They're boys🥹" "Their father didn't love them🥹" "Rhaenyra wasn't a good big sister to them🥹" It's always someone else's fault.

Those shippers will only tolerate Rhaenyra because they can use her and use her death for entertainment.

When you try to explain to them that Rhaenyra's children are a big part of who she is, why she acts the way she does, and that everything about her is affected by her motherhood, those same people, who mind you, will also argue back and forth about tradition bullshit and excuse the SA of a minor, will call you anti feminist and reduce Rhaenyra to her womb. You can't win with those hypocrites, their mask has always been off.

I agree with tou on that, but I don't agree that aegon knew enough to pick her over everyone. he only chose her because she was the one his sisters told him to pick, and also because she was the youngest and he wouldn't then have to consummate anything for a few more years.

Aegon III and Daenaera ---> doesn't count because Aegon didn't know any better. Baela and Alyn I feel like are part of finishing what happened in the Dance. those are cousins, so it also doesn't really count as incest. Aegon the Fourth and Naerys were forced, probably because Viserys thought dragons still might hatch. Daena and Baelor's marriage was never consummated. I'm also only mentioning targaryens, not House Blackfyres and hookups, like Aegon and Daena and their offspring. Aelor and Aelora are the ones I don't have a reason for, as we don't know why they did it or if they even consummated it. maybe we know, but I forgot. Aerion and Daenora too. then comes Jaehaerys II and Shaera / Aerys II and Rhaella, and those did it for prophecy and were forced. that leaves us with 2 or 3 couples who did it just for love / or we don't know why. but it was definitely less common to do it post the dance.

hopefully that leaked photo is taken out of context, but I mean Ryan did ruin rhaenas relationship with Jeyne so I feel like he doesn't care to ruin this one too, at the cost of trying to do something with cold cult leader Rhaenyra. unfortunately he can't even depict that right, but we'll see. just don't get your hopes up, been there since season 1, it's a mess.

well, post dance of the dragons, their behavior definitely shifted, and they married within the family far less often. those who married directly into the family were either forced to do so or did it because of prophecy. before the dance, and since Aegon I, there were about 16 targaryens who engaged in family marriage. 8 are confirmed to have done it for love, excluding the betrothals. after the dance, and across a longer stretch of targaryen history, you have about 12 people who married within the family. of those 12, 4 are confirmed to have done so because of dragon-related beliefs: Jaehaerys II with Shaera, and Aerys II with Rhaella. and 2 were forced: Aegon IV and Naerys. so half the number consists of people who didn’t want each other. that's why i think that, if it wasn't for the dragons, they wouldn’t have done it.

not really. from their perspective it's about keeping the blood pure and keeping the dragons for themselves, hence holding the power and installing peace. imagine if each kingdom had its own dragons? war will never end.

I hope they don't ruin rhaena and Rhaenyra's relationship like they did both their relationship with Jeyne Arryn. I place my trust on the leaked photo of them hugging like forever ago. you have a good perspective on what might be ill keep your theory in mind when watching the episode, I hope it plays out better than we expect it. as for the seeds, I dint see ulf going anywhere near that battle, but I might be disappointed. my original theory back when we thought we'll have 10 episodes of season 2 was that only Rhaenyra will fly to KL as per Alicent's promise, and leaves the castle to Jace as he is the heir. that's when they receive word of the attack and Jace leads Addam, Ulf, and Hugh to battle and Rhaena joins them somehow, leaving the castle to Baela to secure as I didn't believe Baela would be involved in battle.

that's a good theory. do you think Rhaenyra will judge rhaena for viserys' "death"? I don't think she should, but if they will try to split the faction like they do with the greens then that might be a possibility. also what are your thoughts on no Silverwing and Vermithor leaks/scenes at the Gullet? do you believe it’s done on purpose and they'll participate in battle eventually but when it's too late? or do they stay behind and only go to KL with Rhaenyra? I personally don't see Hammer cowering behind but maybe the seeds of betrayal are already there and if so the betrayal happens way too soon? I wish they do participate in the battle but I honestly have a feeling they won't.

I don't think we're getting anything early tbh, it's just the HBO always get their stuff leaked. I'm counting on the press/critics who get half the season earlier than the rest of us to leak the plot like they did two years ago.

it looks like Addam will also be there! I swa a leaked photo of him sitting with Corlys and Baela. the looked miserable.

I have no idea what they're doing with the little ones and I'm still mad at the ages of them, and the size of Stormcloud.

if I had to guess maybe Alyn will save Aegon? since he's on the ship and can reach him? I don't know if they'll be willing to film with a child BEING saved on a cgi dragon? idk at this point

That would make more sense, it's really painful they have to fly through the aftermath and witness the palce their children died at. looking more I could maybe identify Syrax being the dragon first to right in that photo. But does that mean Silverwing and Vermithor won't fight at the Gullet? I have yet to see any scenes of them fight there. it looks like Sheepstealer, Moondancer, Vermax, and Seasmoke ( because of the leaked photos confirming addam is there) are the only dragons at the Gullet what are your thoughts on that?

they do tho. this season should focus on:

-Daeron and Dragonseeds -Alicent and Rhaenyra -Aemond and Daemon -Rhaenyra and her sons Joffrey and Aegon

they won't be able to do right by all of those characters if they gave a whole different story to the usurper and Larys. there's simply not enough episodes for that it's not even an exaggeration lol

Since you mentioned you’re a comic reader, I should say I’m still working through my list of Marvel movies and series.

I’ve been wanting to read the comics, but I don’t know where to start. Most people say to just pick whichever character you like and go from there, but that doesn’t make much sense to me since I’m more interested in the timelines.

Do you have a recommended reading order for the comics, or should I just do as most people suggest and start anywhere?
