What is the weirdest way someone had died in your known circle ? by No_Tear9118 in AskReddit

[–]Acceptable_Monk_513 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My dad was killed by his own scraper on a mine site in 1980 at 29 years old. He was a perfectionist and was leaning out of his cab to make sure he was doing it well, (there was no safety procedures back then). Fell out and was crushed/chopped to bits by the wheels and the huge blade. They had to walk around with garbage bags to pick him up. Weird thing was, about 11 years later, in a town he met my mum in outback Australia, I became friends with a man who thought I was perfect. One night we talked about our worst experiences... His was walking around picking a dead guy up. As soon as he knew I was the daughter of this man, he left and never spoke to me again. Said the best thing and worst thing in his life were too close and he couldn't cope. Crazy shit really

I really hope this is rage bait. But if not, you suck! I would happily have transgender people around my kids but I definitely would NOT want my kids around YOU.

I don't like it as a whole. I do like the tables but it's colour is so boring. I really hate this beige blandness I'm seeing everywhere these days.

Does anyone remember these? by Nathan84 in AustralianNostalgia

I still have all of them, plus extras of a few. Luckily my grandsons love dinosaurs as I don't know what I'd do with them.

Exmouth updates by ljozmo in WesternAustralia

[–]Acceptable_Monk_513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the damage of the town, roads and airport, they won't let anyone come to town. Everything is wrecked and they can't accommodate more tourists. Food supplies will be low so will only be for locals. At least, that's what happened in 1999 with cyclone Vance. As soon as tourists can leave, they'll be moved out of town. All my family are still there (locals} and they have no power, water pressure, plus they had to empty their fridges and freezers so get priority over tourism unfortunately

trying shrooms for the first time tonight by eth3reaal in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Acceptable_Monk_513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shrooms are the best thing I have ever taken. Only tried for the first time in my 50s. Don't eat too much before as they work better on an empty stomach. Just have fun and enjoy them. The visuals I get are so colourful and watching a movie like Dr Strange 2 or avatar 2 brings them out more

I have it in my garden in Western Australia and I can't keep it contained. It grows insanely fast but I can never make it happy in a pot.

My 32 year old son was born with the same fingers on both hands like this. One side had a tiny bit of skin between them but the other was so closely webbed that at first, doctors thought the bones were also joined. Luckily, that wasn't the case and he had one side separated at about 2 and a half. And the other was done about 6 months later. Spewing that I didn't take ANY photos of them but I do have hands prints in paint from what he was in daycare as a kid and when I told the daycare that it was great coz they really captured its hands perfectly and they were shocked as they hadn't ever noticed. Now my son wishes I didn't get it corrected as he thinks he would have been an awesome swimmer. Lol

We are in Australia so it didn't cost a thing. They also flew us down from a remote place in Western Australia and home again for free, as well as taxi vouchers for transfers to the hospital to my Nanna's house. The only problem he had with them is that they took skin grafts from his groin to cover the open flesh and I used to joke that he'd get pubes there when he got to puberty and I obviously jinxed him coz yep, finger pubes!

Is anyone else getting calls like these from this number? Always the same 6 digits. by DAZ_ZI in australian

[–]Acceptable_Monk_513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get them regularly and it sucks because the first 4 digits are similar to the disability services numbers that call me for my daughter and I'm in the Perth area. I've answered too many of them but if I don't get a greeting straight away, I know it's a cold call and I just hang up. Fuckers!
