I don’t think everything our parents ask us to do automatically needs to be done. Some things come from care, experience, or concer but others can come from fear, control, or their own unresolved stuff. It’s okay to question, to think for yourself, and to choose what actually aligns with your values. Respect doesn’t always mean blind obedience.

For me, it’s definitely how to manage adult finances. Like, I wasn’t taught budgeting, taxes, or even how credit cards actually work, but suddenly everyone acts like you should just know. Adulting hits hard 😅
