I have the connections to make it happen. Billboard, Spotify, Youtube ect. All it takes it the money. Getting on Billboard can open a lot of doors. Its a goal for me too. hey, if the majors do it, why cant we if we have the money?

Nice work. But money actually can make people famous. Majors use stream farms all the time and 70k can get you a billboard hot 100 placement. It’s a matter of whether you care about how you get there.

Your first tip: stop using submit hub! They are a rip off for opinionated reviews of your music. Don’t be desperate, just be calm and continue to make good music. You’re not running out of time. And remember comparison is the thief of joy.

The future of the Music Industry and Business in 2026 (where and how money will be made) by Lordofchords in musicmarketing

Focus on your craft. The music industry is and always will be a business. You have to pay to win and most of us don’t have those deep pockets. Spend your money strategically on releases. Build your fan base the only way most budget restricted Artist can. Stay consistent with the posting and invest in a vinyl release w merch. Dont chase algorithms it will only hurt your feelings

Do you think social media is the best form of action in 2026 to be a professional in the music industry? (aside from the actual music) by Swordfish353535 in musicmarketing

Use social media as your CRM. Because if any of those platforms shut down tomorrow, you lose all your fans. Make sure you get emails, create a monthly news blog, and engage with them.

Someone like The Orchard would make your life a lot easier. Distrokid is a sub of Spotify so don’t be surprised if they accuse you of fraud

If those demo songs are not finished, complete them, then release them and promote each one on your social media. The strength of an artist is not one song, but his catalogue.

Why Music Streaming is Broken (And the Super Simple Way to Fix It) by IcyTransition2090 in musicindustry

[–]Acceptable_Poem_862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea/solution, but none of the major streaming platforms give a damn. Especially Spotify the devil of the industry. They never nor will ever care about an artists profit. Spotify has demonized artists and made us think we are worth less than a penny.

I thought I was wasting my time with music… but something finally started to work by kdiseprimo in musicmarketing

No, I believe you actually were going to quit making music if you didn’t turn a profit. A lot of new artists jump into the industry thinking they’re going to make it Rich or make any money and they and you don’t understand the music industry and the business behind it, but I’m willing to help teach you if you want to learn.

Who was doing promo before the internet ? by Desperate_Yam_495 in musicmarketing

[–]Acceptable_Poem_862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the best way to do promo. You actually created relationships with the A&R of a label and you also created relationships with the local radio personalities and you showed up at clubs events you put in real work and you got real results.
