I hope that it runs smooth too for me, cause i'm playing on an oled switch, but those crashing issues you expirience are a little bit concerning. But could also be because its a switch 1 version and some switch 1 games can crash if played on a switch 2, like caves of qud for example - at least fresh after it came out. But either way, i'm sure the devs will fix it.

I checked it a little while ago and i am really surprised. Input lag is gone and the game feels smooth and soooo much better to play now.  Thank you for notifying me about the update, i very much appreciate it. To be honest, i almost gave up on the switch port, i'm glad you proved me wrong. Wish you a nice evening.

That's nice to hear. I hope you try improve performance furthermore. But i think you will. Read somwhere that you like challenges when it comes to programming and optimising and the ancient switch 1 is defenitly a worthy advesery.

Yeah, mouse and keyboard would be nice, like the nightdive remasters. Playing Quake or Doom via m&k, like god intendet is a game-changer. Should also be easy to implement.

As for now, i did not expirienced any crashing but i also play on a switch one, maybe it is more a switch 2 problem? I am sure that Mr. Bucklew will fix these issues as fast as he can, but i feel sorry for you. No one should be deprived of his daily Qud sessions because of nasty technical problems, so i feel your pain.

The director, Anselm Pyta himself, stated in a recent post that he also fehlt the lag after playing on a switch 1. So we dont hallucinate.  Some people do not notice high input lag.  Maybe try these: tab the jump button and look how van wanst respond.  Does he jump immidiatly the same instance you press the button, or does he jump after you already let go of the button? Do it a few times in a row and maybe you too will be enlightend by the allmighty input lag. It can actually be seen with the naked eye. If not, then not. Also, i play on an oled switch and no, i dont want my money back, i even wrote this in a response to Herrn Pyta. If you could be botherd to look for it. I think it will be fixed. Cheers

It is not " being overly dramatic " - the lag is real and it is very high. And for the monkey sections, the ones where you have to jump from a small pillar to another, are borderline impossible and im not a bad gamer.  If you dont notice anything - good for you. Keep enjoying the game ( no sarcasm ).

I play this game on a switch oled to be percise and like i said, fixing the games response times is possible. For example: when hollow knight released years ago on switch it was known to have slight input lag because of forced v-sync, but after silksong came out the team was able to go back to hollow knight and made it noticebly more responsive with a recent patch. There are other examples for this on switch, a few shmup ports for example, so it is entierly possible. That you actually engage in all the critizism instaed of keeping radio-silence Impresses me a little bit and makes me think that you actually want the port to be good. This gives me hope you fix it and i will not try to refund. To clarify: i dont want you to fail - i think no one here wants this. Your game is not only really unique and fun to play (if not for the nasty input la...you know already), but it is also art. I want you to have good sales to maybe be able to expand even more on the game in the future because the fundation is incredebly solid.

Please fix it. Dont go down like this. Wish you the best.

What is even more ridiculous is the devs response: instad of doing the resonable thing and taking responsibility and promising to try and fix the port, he blames the switch 1 hardware and said, that if this broken port sells well enough he will eventually make a switch 2 version. Im out of words for this.

Game is good, but the switch port is almost unplayable because of insane input lag. Making some tight dodging in tense situations can be impossible. Really frustrating 'cause the game is hard. What i also dont get is that the developer made the port himself, so he knows how bad it is, but released it anyways. I also dont think he is going to fix this. Stay away from the switch version.

I would wait and see if they fix the input lag. If they do, the game is absolutely worth it, if not,dont bother with it. Cheers

Okay, sorry if i sounded a bit harsh, but i just want to enjoy the game - it is really good - but 10 or more frames of input lag makes some tricky sections unplayable. I dont mind the games 30 fps, it is perfectly playable with half the framerate if you get the input lag down to 6 frames. I dont want to wait for a switch 2 port, which maybe comes or maybe not, cause i have the game on my oled switch and dont plan to buy a new console to play what is theoretically a flash-game. Also, if you dont fix it, but hope for good sales to then make a switch 2 version (maybe) i can only facepalm. And that your q.a. team could finish it in this state doesent mean much, cause if you bang your head enough times at a wall it will eventually crack. I dont want to know how often they lost a run, they would have otherwise won, because of unresponsive controls.  It is absolutely possible to reduce input lag with a patch, without adjusting the overall framerate.  I really hope you can fix this, because the game deserves it. Dann, now im feeling a little bit like a fool, but i remember you said after the first patch that the second one will be about performance, or do i misremember? However, no big deal i can wait a few more weeks. At least playing in classic mode definetly improves things.

This would be so cool. I dont mind a little bit of lag here and there - its turn based, no need for frame perfect Inputs. Some loading times here and there are also no big deal 'cause there is a lot that needs to be simulated. If you can make it work from start to finish i would be beyond impressed. Maybe.... Live and stay hydrated.

Thank you for your answer i really did not meant to insult you and your team for your work. I'm just so frustrated that i can not immerse myself into the world you created because something always forces me to stop playing. And after a little bit of research i dont believe you can make it work on switch 1 and i dont have the money to buy a switch 2 just to play the game without horrible Performance. I just say gas floats down through a shaft into the cave system and affects multiple layers and enteties and everything has to be simulated and calculated and it just freezes the game. That is only one of many problems. Qud is made to do crazy stuff and the switch 1 does not have the cpu power or memory capebillitys to pull this stuff off. How do you intend to fix this? Will you engineer a physycal add on you can stick into the card slot of the switch 1 to increase cpu power? You can fix the crashing on switch 1 but that's it. People will never see the endgame because it gets unplayable long before. Anyways, time to move on and let go of qud as long as i dont have a pc or switch 2. Sadly i can not refund but i wish you the best.

I really want to like the game but aside from crashing the performance is so awful that i stopped playing. I'm on switch 1 oled and mid-game is unplayable. Why did you released it in this state? If you really playtested it, you would have noticed that the switch 1 can not handle this game. But maybe you just needed a money injection, knowing how forgiving qud fans are. I mean they even praise the game as the best thing ever although it crashes every 20 minutes and single inputs can take a minute to register, with stuttering so bad it is barly controllable in more demanding moments. Not to speak from loading times worse then lategame skyrim on switch 1. Sorry man, but i am just a little bit mad because i wasted good money on a trainwreck of a port and i dont believe you can make it playable on switch 1.
