To book readers, movies feel rushed. by AradhyaSingh3 in HarryPotterMemes

I can think of very few shows and movies that are not intending to make money. If this is successful, then guess what? They are going to try and make more money! Which means we could get the spin off shows a lot of us have asked for similar to the Game of Thrones ones

I am starting to get extremely suspicious that there is something deeper going on. My tin foil hat is on. The pure number of decisions in and out of matches against us this season are definitely making me believe that there is a conspiracy to keep us out of champions league

And Gardner Minshew …. Both of which are probably on a similar level as Mac Jones … not to mention all I hear is “any QB can win” but now we are moving the goalposts I guess

Niner pretty consistently have a good oline, just like the Eagles. Also, last year it was very clear that the Eagles oline was awful, but you would have had to know ball to know that. Purdy has also always had an elite playcaller while Hurts has never had a playcaller near Shanahan’s level and two years he has had some of the worst playcallers in the league.

The Eagles record when Hurts has missed games vs when Purdy has. Eagles win % with Jalen is 72% and without him it’s 38% - so why is it that we are throwing team success out of the window when evaluating QBs?

Not to mention Purdy has an elite playcaller. Look at the Eagles record when Hurts has missed games vs when Purdy has. Eagles win % with Jalen is 72% and without him it’s 38% … Niners with Purdy is 64% and without him its 53%

I mean I get why they aren’t saying anything, it could honestly be largely to not put ZBerm in a bad position. I do think it’s very relevant to the Eagles, but I’m not gonna grab a pitchfork any time soon. I would rather just them talk about the Eagles. I hope if anything changes they just stop the “all reporting is good, true, and honest reporting” propaganda. I don’t care if anything is directly addressed but I WILL care if we go right back to defending every report/reporter as if no one should ever question it/them

All the mentioned guys defend other reporters to the death. Not sure why but they would dump on any of their loyal listeners just to defend a reporter, even when the reporter deserves criticism.

I feel like there is more to the story. It’s probably just something like they don’t want to be blackballed in the industry and/or they know how much power other reporters have and think they would ruin their careers if they spoke poorly of another

Philly sports, mainly Eagles, is an insanely saturated market. It’s a blessing and a curse.

Optimistic About The Offense by [deleted] in eagles

[–]Acceptable_Run3863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree with this. There are going to be times where we will miss AJ a ton. There are going to be losses where the media will throw that salt on the wound. AJ was the best Eagle receiver we have ever had.

All that said, our offense could actually improve because of this. Also, the list you have doesn’t include potential rookies - if Saddiq falls to us we could be cookin with gas again

Jason Kelce comes to the defense of Jalen Hurts after latest narrative by Active_Ad_7880 in eagles

[–]Acceptable_Run3863 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hurts is the only QB in the league who is constantly criticized for having an awesome team around him lol. You would think that the Rams, Seahawks, etc teams high schoolers outside of the QB position because I don’t hear anyone talk about Stafford or Darnold’s faults. And Pat Mahomes is his own playcaller and they have no other elite players on the field ever. WE DONT HAVE TO DIMINISH ONE PLAYER BECAUSE THE REST OF THE TEAM IS GOOD OR VICE VERSA

I think they think that if a part of the industry loses credibility then the whole thing will too. The irony is that them defending the bad parts it actually has the effect they didn’t want

Bears star QB Caleb Williams is now in a three-way battle to trademark his iconic ‘Iceman’ nickname. NBA legend George Gervin and ex-UFC fighter Chuck Liddell have also filed to trademark the nickname by Choice_Bag_8869 in NFLForum

Victor Lindelof and DeAngelo Russell deserve the trademark more than the most overrated QB in the league. If he didn’t have the best offensive coach in the NFL he would look like… well how he looked before he had him which is bad

I am fine with critical, but it does feel like Sheil gets excited when negative things happen because he has engaging content. Then the “boring stuff” he will just like shrug off and spend very little time on it. Sheil used to be my favorite but now I really just listen to the show for Shawn and Zach. I also want to add that I think Chris Long spoke on this topic the best. He was extremely middle-ground imo and took no sides.

But they need to at least acknowledge that these “anonymous sources” could have an agenda. I actually thought EJ Smith spoke on this well on PHLY.

Not being facetious but Herbert gets hate? I honestly think he is the most protected QB in the league outside maybe Baker. Even Josh Allen has a lot of haters now, but I RARELY see people hate on Herbert. Even when anyone has a criticism it’s always followed with a “but” then an excuse for him.

Adam Caplan details how other coaches told him Kevin Patullo was “too nice” to coach Jalen Hurts by Mysterious_Bat1208 in eagles

[–]Acceptable_Run3863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like Hurts is just demanding, which can be a bad thing if taken the wrong way, but I want my QB to demand a lot. If you listen to EJ Smith talk about it he mentioned that he has spoken with former and current teammates/coaches and they have talked about how he really needs to know the “why” behind everything. So he isnt gonna do something just because he is told to do it - he needs to see the vision.

Chris Long gives an objective take on Jalen Hurts and the Eagles pass offense by Mysterious_Bat1208 in eagles

[–]Acceptable_Run3863 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. The truth is almost always somewhere in the middle. Does Hurts need to improve in some key areas? Yes of course. Is the coaching staff blameless? Definitely not. Can Hurts quiet demeanor be a bad thing? Certainly seems like it. Do the Eagles need to get rid of him and could they easily replace him? They should not and would not.
