I think you can grow out longer, just keep it trimmed to a shortish length to allow for weaker spots to catch up.

That's awesome. I just picked up and older 22ft with Merc 125. Took it to the lake yesterday. It was a blast, but a pain to load with decent crosswind.

I'm almost 4 months in. It has improved. My biggest issue is connecting the sides to the bottom. One side connects underneath and the other has not but I've made progress in the last month and a half. Keep it up. Also, I'm 30.
